No message after a reply in a subscribed thread
I don't know what is going on but I am no more receiving any message to warn me someone has replied to a thread I have subscribed to. I have checked my control panel and the right option is currently selected.
Could someone do something about this as it is really difficult to catch up with the threads and especially the CtP2 DG ones without this feature.
Note: this is the second time since the beginning of the year...

This happens intermittently to me as well. Use 'my threads' to track your threads whilst the emails aren't sending.

Perhaps I am getting your emails, as I occasionally get notifications regarding threads I am not subscribed to.
I shouldn't get emails at all.

Give me back my e-mails...
Thanks DrSpike, I know this feature but I really prefer receiving e-mail...

It probably happens during times of high server load.
Well thats the usual excuse that is trundled out when something goes awry.

Why would one want to fill their inbox with reply emails?
Can't you come to 'Poly and remember which threads you have posted in?

I tried this email notification for a couple days, but I was getting an email for every single post that was added to a thread. It was a dozen or two emails, IIRC, and I was posting in only a couple of threads then.
I think it would reduce server load somewhat if only the first reply after someone's last Poly session generated an email.
Or maybe one email total with a link to My Threads for the first new post in any of your threads.

I like the email feature. Apart from some intermittent exceptions I only get more than one mail (for any one thread) if I visit the site after the first mail, and then someone posts in the thread again before I have had chance to check the thread. But this is how it is supposed to work.

I've had the above, where it mails me everytime that someone replies.
All it took was one OT thread for me to switch.

Me too. I had about 100 replies to a thread I started after the first day.
100 emails to go with them.
ACK!

You had better ask for this thread to be closed, since now it is open for +1 ers to spam.

Isn't it it the fate of almost every thread?
BtW, to whom do I have to ask for a thread to be closed?

Just type it in the thread, got to give the sharks "some" chance to feed.

Tuberski, do you mean I just have to type it in one of my replies?
If you want to have fun for a while I can wait until tomorrow...

That's the slow way to get it closed, the fast way is to PM Ming, DanQ, or MarkG.
Whichever way you do it is up to you, I'm not a spamshark.
