That would essentially be a form of multiplayer, playing the game in parallel.

Do you think, that saving and reloading the same game after loss is cheating? If so, try to pass Space Rangers with no saves.

That is not cheating. Commandos would be a nightmare to complete without the opportunity to save.

Saving and reloading in Commandos, and saving and reloading because you don't like it that your unit lost to the comp's attacking unit in Civ are 2 very different things.

I like making my Green Beret or Sapper go psycho when I know I'm about to die.
They can do a lot of damage, and sometime I don't die they are so destructive!

No, it isn't. It ruins the playing experience, so it's not smart, but it's not wrong, either.

Cheating in a single-player game is like masturbation. Sure, it may be fun, but you're only cheating yourself.

I don't think we want to hear the cheating in multiplayer comparison. Especially given the gaming partners many of us have.

I don't cheat in my games, SP or MP. It's not that I think it is morally wrong, I just don't find it as much fun as I do when I'm playing fair.
But in Deus Ex, I wanted to explore some other variants in the game story, so I used some cheats to explore that variants without the constraints of following the game mechanics. But I only did it after I had finished the game first.

Yeah I did that as well, but the choices made no difference.
It was seamlessly done, but it was essentially a linear story, albeit a very compelling one.

But it was cool to save Paul Denton and then meet him again in Hong Kong.

My strategy was to see how many people I could kill and still get away with it.

Multiplayer cheating is wrong, or would you like to have people going around knowing what the opponent is precisely doing?

I don't know if it is morally wrong, but I always feel a little guilty when I foil probe AIs in SMAC.

Don't worry SD, you're not on my list. Though if you post once more about why 'curse' is better than 'escape' I'd consider adding you.

I'd better post twice more to avoid that "once more" threat then.
BTW Curse is far better than Escape.

I don't consider cheating in SP 'fun', I'm not sure if I'm the only one, but...

I've used this... tactic in other games than Deus Ex, and I don't think that it would ruin playing, since games tend to get repetitive if you start playing them again... especially RPG's and FPS'.

In single player, cheating isn't 'morally wrong'. With Civ2, I turned the cheats on, but only after I'd beaten the game many, many times. It's fun to play around with.
Now, multiplayer is a whole other story but since the poll was for SP, I won't go there.

Cheats can be fun if you want a quick game. I occasionally use the 10000 minerals/vespene gas cheat in Starcraft to speed up the game and unit production.
I'm not looking to play a real game here, I just want to kill some Zerg for an hour or so. What's immoral about that?
