The Fate of Saddam Hussein
As President Bush and Saddam are destined to rattle their sabres once again, I cannot help but wonder how this war will end. I'm refering to how the war will end for Saddam. What, in your opinion, will be his fate?
My own opinion tends to weigh towards the possibility that Saddam, just like our old pal Bin Laden, will dissapear. Does anyone else agree?
Possible outcomes in regards to Saddam's future:
A. Saddam will dissapear.
B. Saddam will be exiled.
C. Saddam will be killed.
D. Saddam will be caught and stand trial.
E. Saddam will committ suicide (Different from C).
F. Saddam will go underground and fight a guerrilla war.
These are all very interesting possibilities to ponder. I have always been interested in the final hours of dictators and their regimes and I really would like to know your stance in regards to this issue.

I think he will stay in Iraq as long as possible, then leave the country into exile after the war begins. My seocnd choice is that he will fight to the finish, which is absed ont he repeated commnets that he wants to be a new Saladin.

D, E and F are extremely unlikely for various different reasons. I'd prefer C, but I think A is likely.

Several nations have already offered Saddam asylum. I can't remember them all, but the one that stuck in my mind was Belarus.

Really? I can't see why ANY country would want to offer Saddam asylum. It's not like he'd be a great contribution to the economy or international prestige of the country...

The President of Belarus is a screwball dictator, just like old Saddam. I think he'd fit right in there.

Saddam doesn't have any terrorist connections to hide with. Obviously, he's either going to be killed by a "stray" bullet or stand a Bush-botched trial.

Saddam will just go underground as a hero to the Islamist cause having successfully demonstrated that 'we who make the rules do not nessecarily abide by them.'They , his ministers, might say he is here or there but when they go to try him for crimes against humanity they won't find him. Oh by the way are the liberaters going to change the CEO 's out that really are in controle or are they just moving there offices to New York or Paris.

I'm glad most agree with me. But, St. Leo may of-course be right. If Hussein is somehow captured and made to stand trial (Milosevich has) then he will obviously be tried for the following and, no doubt, be found guilty.
1. Carrying out heinous human rights abuses,
2. Invading Iran and Kuwait,
3. Firing 39 Scud missiles at Israeli civilians,
4. Using mustard and nerve gas against Iranians and the Kurds in contravention of the Geneva Protocol,
5. Causing several million war casualties and refugees,
6. Committing environmental terrorism by flooding the Persian Gulf with millions of gallons of oil and setting Kuwaiti oil refineries on fire,
7. Encouraging Palestinian terrorism by sending $30 million to the families of suicide bombers who killed, maimed and wounded innocent civilians,
8. Refusing, since 1991, to comply with 11 UN Security Council resolutions requiring the elimination of biological, chemical and nuclear development programs and long-range missile delivery systems.

Eventually, Kim, Bin laden and Saddam will all have to share the retiree home in florida. It will be like a third roomate in a 2-person dorm room (anyone had that experience?)
I heard Bin Laden is pissed about the idea of tripling.

Considering he's going to make some sort of an announcement soon, I, unfortunately, don't think he's dead....yet....and thus the war goes on.

I think that is going to fight back as a urban guerrilla. The defence of Irak is imposible, but the defence of Bagdad with the entire forces of the Republican Guard and the Army could do some harm to the american-british squad.
Anyway, Saddam has no connection with terrorists. This war is obviously to take over the iraki oil and to transform that nation in the 51st star of the american flag.

He will die or mysteriously disappear. He will then be caught at the syrian border with one of those big-nose-with-thick-glasses disguise
FTW, I was told by a guy from the US whose dad was an intel officer, said that in 1991 a Tomahawk actaully did get saddam's palace, the one he was actually staying at but it was a dud...

Not likely, although if he gets nailed in one of his C&C complexes, the body might never be recovered. Hussein's too much of a cowboy and egomaniac not to go out in a blaze of glory, unless he ****s up and gets caught live trying to move to his last stand, or he gets sold down the river at the end by his own guards.
OBL is a duck and run sort of guy - one who views himself as indispensible and special. Hussein views himself as the classic manly man.

Saddam may already be dead. The address he made on Iraqi TV was taped they say, and there's some inconsistancies with his 'usual' manner of making these addresses; could be a double.
Slight possiblity, but that sneak attack may have dealt a fatal blow. Who knows...

Hmm I wonder... I thought the US did not accept the authority of the International Court, or is that just if it ever impeaches an American..
