5th Apolyton CtP2 SP Tournament: 20 March - 20 April 2003
After a hiatus of a few months, it's time for a new Tournament. This time we're playing with the latest version of WesW's MedMod: Medieval Mod II v2.2. This mod can be downloaded from both Wes's website and from the Apolyton Directory. Detailed installation instructions will be available later today, for those who need them. If you have any problems with installing or playing this mod, please post about this in these forums and I (and maybe Wes, if I can track him down) will try to help out.
This map has a lot of land terrain and you'll be playing as the Mongols as Genghis Khan, the Scourge of Asia. Try to use your Mongol Hordes to overrun some of the same enemies that Genghis overran in the 14th century. Though all victory options are open, Bloodlust victories are encouraged
Good luck to all! Hopefully we'll have more participants now than we had last time...

Okay finished, was a pretty decent game probably best not to give anything away for the other players so i wont go on. I think i couldve knocked a couple of hundred years off that finish though but i was on a kinda re-learning process with MedMod, after a long time off with SAP, thats my excuse anyway.

The save, just move the small rifleman army onto their last city, they should win without too much trouble. (or they did everytime with me anyway)

I am having difficulty in getting the program to run. During start up I get several "Targa Load Error's". The first error was "unable to find the file UPUP161.TGA". My O.S. is Windows Millenium. (I have given up trying to use my laptop with Windows XP has I can never finish a game without it crashing). I have downloaded twice, thinking that i might have had a corrupted file, but got the same error.

The "Pictures" folder unzips to the wrong place by default with one of the MedModII zips, check youre ...\Call To Power 2\ctp2_data\default or something like that, there should be a folder called "MMIIPictures" and you have to cut and paste all the pictures from that into the right folder in ...\Call To Power 2\ctp2_data\default\graphics\pictures.
I know it unzips to the wrong folder anyway, it should be clear when you find it.

map problem
Hi.
How should I load map into the game.
When I try to load it with editor I recieve an error
"Unexpected end of file". I installed all needed
mods, files and they works properly because
I tried to play medmod on custom map.
Please help.
PS. For whose who want to give me answer
"look into faq or forum archives" please dont
do this because I spent a lot of time searching
for any solution without any positive result.
Thanks for all
PW

Primo,
The tournament game is not a map, it's a safegame. Safe it in a subfolder of ctp2_program\ctp2\saves\games and load it like you load any other savegame.
Hope this helps (and good luck playing)

Save and attach it as a Jpeg, then it will show.
Also dont forget to post your save game inside a .zip file also.

Okay well get a zip program like Winzip or Winrar and compress youre save game file inside a "zip" file, then make a new post and attach that new zip file to youre new post. Ive attached youre final score here.
If you need some more help ill be on icq in a second and you can send me your save file there and ill attach it or somethin.

You need to zip the saved game first before you can attach it because the save game type of file isnt allowed to be attached, but zip files are.

Just curious to know. What is the goal in this Tourney, to have the highest score, or something else? Sorry for the simple question, but this is my first Tourney.

The two main goals are highest score and quickest end year, obviously if you want quickest end year you go for diplomatic victory, but its better to go for a more common victory type like bloodlust so you can compare with more people.

The goal of the Tourney is to have fun and learn!
But yeah, the games are ranked by end year and end score. Best scores per victory type are highlighted on the result page, best overall scores enter the Hall of Fame ( Example).
