can i have more than 7 factions playing?

i know in Civ3 u can have loads, even 32 civs playing.
I cant seem to be able to do it in AC, always stuck on 7.
I wanna have all all 14 factions playing (all orig+xfire ones), there any way of doing it?

be nice to play a really big map with loads of factions on, quite challenging.
i would do it in civ3, but that game runs sooooooo slow!
