Design the Victory Monument Contest

I haven't seen any contests posted in OT in quite a while, so its time.

Its also only a matter of time until the "Coalition of the Willing" overruns Iraq and occupies Baghdad. When they do, I think some sort of monument really should be erected in the centre of town to commemorate the event.

Lets design it !

Try to keep it in relatively good taste - the moderators will act as, shall we say, 1st round judges.

Then, on April 1st we can all vote on the best.

You may use any Photo or Art programs to create your masterpiece, but please keep the posting a reasonable size or post it on your home web page & link to it.

I was personally thinking of creating a salute to some of the lesser Coalition members, like Albania.

Have fun !! Maybe if this works we can talk DanQ & MarkG to donate some nifty Apolyton wear as a prize !!!!

I would have thought designing "potential" propaganda pamphlets the coalition could have dropped would be more fun.

I think a French Fly would be the button up type, the American Fly a zipper and a Freedom Fly sans zipper or buttons !

The victory statue should have a scruffy, bearded male wearing a backwards baseball cap, carrying a bat in one hand and a burning American flag in the other hand. On his shoulders will be perched three monkeys: one blind, one deaf and one mute.

What victory? I don't see combat anywhere, just lots of bombs being dropped in major cities and the tanks rolling smoothly over the desert sands. Oh, and some Iraqi soldiers were captured without fight. There is not much to celebrate.

This is my first time trying anything like this, so i though I'd do somthing simple: the Exxon headquarters and an oil refinery added to the baghdad skyline.

I think I could of done a better job with the smog, though.

Yeah in areas where nearly no troops are stationed it's easy

and that's what they are doing right now, besides the fighting in Basra is still fierce (for example the Iraqi harbour still cannot be used for logistic support because it's still dangerous there)

Besides it's US army policy to bypass cities and strongholds where a lot of military is stationed, because they want to get on to Baghdad as quickly as possible

They are avoiding combat as much as possible (I celebrate this fact Btw, of course the bombings are still nasty but well...)

that's what our beloved general was telling just a few moments ago... (btw what the hell was that pentagon represantative wearing??? sheesh she was an ugly harpy, unfriendly, harsh and she was wearing a brown (on one side) pink(one the other side) 1936 piece of cloth LOL
