Iowa was a territory. Sorry. Don't count any more than importing French.

Battefields are historical sites, so yes.
The statues can be kept -- they make nice places for pigeons to **** on, anyway.
State capitals -- no, since it's treason for government institutions to display the flag of any current or former enemy.

Shows how much you know -- Iowa was admitted as a free state in 1857, when it adopted its Constitution.

I misread my reference -- it stated that in 1857, Iowa adopted its current constitution.
Yes, 1846 is the correct year of Iowa becoming a state.

What about capitals that have every flag in the world. Are they being treasonous because the Iraqi flag is flying with all the others?
Former enemy? Does this mean it is treasonous for a state capital to display a British flag with all others?
I think saying that flying a flag of an 'enemy' being treason is ridiculous.
I quote from Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary (1996): "In the United States, treason is confined to the actual levying of war against the United States, or to an adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort."

I don't know where to post this. for some reason we don't have an Iraq war thread
CNN is showing interviews with the family of POW's.
Pure exploitation. Yet I am watching it. So what does that make me?

Yes it did. So might I suggest that we all get back on topic. You wouldn't want to piss off a 5 headed dragon with no chocolate in sight now would you?

I did indeed. Apologies. I got the impression that you regarded the "Stars and Bars" as an abomination to be purged from all of recorded history.
Actually Imran I'm a Kiwi. I now, therefore, have a Casus Belli against you for calling me an Australian. Quite possibly the most heinous insult in existence.
