Scott F's Great War
First a question of etiquette:
Would it be impolite for me to open a PBEM of Scott F's Great War scenario, which was never "finalized" following certain controversies?

If I have a consensus of "NO" then I will open one, and post the necessary game files

I believe Scott had a lot more to do in terms of events files and such.

The scenario (from my sp exp, which admittedly is not what the scenario was designed for) is playable, and more importantly it is enjoyable.

However, what you said about the events is true, they are slightly unpolished.

If anyone wants to see the files, I'll post them

AFAIK, while Scott planned to do a bit more work on the scenario, he considered it nearly complete (though the last sets of events files needed some more work from memory). As such, I sugest that you try and contact Scott via email, and if he doesn't reply within, say 1 or 2 weeks, start the game.

There were definite play balance issues though. While the Entente were able to have some early successes, there were arbitrary restrictions on them, and some of the events just gave a huge advantage to the Central Powers. I don't think there was any hope for any of the Entente aside from Britain in our game by 1915

Yeah, that's true.
IMO, a lot of the play balance issues could have been fixed by taking railroads out of the game, and greatly reducing the number of Howitzers which the Germans start with.

It was a pretty good scenario though, espcially due to it's realistic simulation of WW1 combat [ie, you could only take cities early in the game by kamikazing dozens of units into them]
