And here is the aftermath:
note that these were in-game shots and not staged in any way...

Ah man, you had to wait until I was back at University to release it!
I'll have to concoct some excuse to go home... Hopefully it won't cut into my exam revision too much!

Great work!
I'm downloading now - looking forward to playing it
The sheer flexability of the Civ2 game engine is what makes scenarios like these possible

Hmmmmm.
DV, when I try to go to the first tripod site, I get a "not available" message.
I DLed the first file on ACS. So, now should I DL the other 3 files too? Are they sound files?

I downloaded and installed everything without a problem.
I started up a game to have a quick look around.
I must say, if this scenario plays half as good as it looks, I think we will have a contender to rank up there with Red Front
The map is simply amazing. You put a lot of care into making this scenario and it shows.
I'm going out for a walk, and when I get back I'm going to start playing this monster.
I'll give you feedback.
More of this type of scenario - please!

Just to threadjack a little: Dave, I've literally got 2 CDs with your name on them,* but I'm waiting for your emailed OK before sending them.
[*to be exact, your name and adress is on a post-it note on the CDs - I haven't been attacking the shiney side with a pen ]

I've played a few turns so far. Great scenario!
The map is a monster - heh
I like the units - you have chosen the best out there.
The map, roads, cities, etc are all well done.
The pop-up messages, history, are a very nice touch.
Great idea to have the German Kubelwagon be able to recon cities.
Overall well done, and I would recommend everyone to download and play this.
Recommendations:
1) In the readme I would recommend adding what a few units do. For example, the player should know that the Kubelwagon can recon cities. Also mention what constitutes victory for the player.
2) On the map, objective cities should be clearly marked.
3) Just a few spelling mistakes.
Keep up the great work.

Also, the Civ Pedia doesn't say what the capabilities of American units are.

yop: That was on purpose.
Leonidas: The victory conditions are in the webguide (file #4). Use your recon to find objective cities. Some of them are revealed/visible on the map. As for spelling errors, what have you got for me?

Great work, DV! I really love these tactical scenarios, like yours, or Stalingrad. Excellent work!!
My troops are at the moment taking St Vith from the South...let's see what happens

OK.
As for spelling errors they are few and far between. I haven't marked anything yet, since I will probably play this scenario again after this first run-through.
The Americans have surprised me by launching limited attacks and have taken out a few of my stacked units.
And I have a feeling it's only going to get rougher from this point on. . .

A fine scenario. However...
It says that the Americans have a Communist government!
Stalin's influence had spread further than anticipated.
Night really surprised me. As did the Americans cutting off roads left and right...
Excellent work!

Stalingrad was FMK's great unfinished work - he finally gave up on it and released the playtest version for public consumption. It's really good; it's a pity he didn't finish it off.
I gave the thread he posted the files in a bump.

Ssh! Don't tell him your favorite routes, they'll get blocked in the next version. It used to be easy to bypass Anders and capture St. Vith early. Did anyone get burned by the AI near Ettlebruck? It humiliated me in one of my starts.
