Hmm...They still look wrtong. I've tried adding a bunch of lines to make them look the same and I can POSSIBLY get the A JT symbol to look right, but the A3J symbol......Sorry, but no

I think raks is right. Considering that the characters on your gift are likely to be simplifed Chinese characters, there is a chance that they are "cursive," (handwriting), and we also got one of them right. If you have access to a digital camera or a scanner, we can further verify (or falsify) the hypothesis.
