Hockey fans: Help Tingkai pick a goalie mask
I've decided to buy a goalie mask and now I face the difficult choice of picking the right look. It's going to set me back about Cdn$400 so it ain't an easy choice.
Which one do you think I should buy?
These links show eight choices. I'll try to attach my top three favourites.

I like the native art look of the Canucks one.

Go with the red one. Red is beautiful.

Get a plain white one and paint stitches on it where ever you get hit with a puck, stick, or skate.
Cheevers' old face plate was one of the best ever.

Being a Leafs fan, you've already got problems.
I love the Canucks, but can't say I'm wild about their uniforms/masks/logos/etc.
You can never really go wrong with a Team Canada mask, altough those big "ITECH" ads are pretty crap.

Paint it to look like Krusty the Klown, stick the hair on and everything ... that'd really psyche out the opposing players.
When someone's skating in on a penalty shot keep shouting "Hey Hey!", then throw a pie in his face.
Alternatively, you might want to go with the Leafs mask. I think that's a stylish design.

What about the Tommy Salo "Angry Viking" mask? That'as always a winner.
(As for the options given, I'll say... Team Canada.)

Paint over the ad, and go with the team Canada facemask.
Again, if you are a Leaf's fan there is no hope for you.

Dead on NYE. The Cheever's look is great. I hadn't thought about that in years. Could definitely be a possibility.
Those old goalies must have been really crazy to play with that kind of minimal protection. No protection for the eyes, throat, ears, back of the head. And the guys who played before Plante... I can't even imagine what it would have been liked to stand in goal without a mask while some guy like Rocket Richard fires a slapshot at me.
Kontiki: The Canucks look pretty good these days, but if you don't like the look just wait a year and they'll change it. The Itech does suck.
Pekka: your're right, it does look good, but I'd never be caught dead wearing a Ranger's mask.

I like the Vancouver one. The Tlingit-esque artwork is beautiful, and very distinctive.

That ain't the half of it. The story of where those face plates came from is better. You prolly know, but for the benefit of others...
The date was November 6, 1959. Montreal Canadiens goalie Jacques Plante had just been hit in the face with a puck during a game against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden. After a brief stay in the locker room Plante returned with two things: a host of fresh sutures and a fiberglass mask he had fashioned himself. The first goalie to wear a mask in a game since Clint Benedict in 1928 made 18 saves as the Canadiens beat the Rangers 8-2.

Yes, prior to that goalies stood there with bare heads. Other goalies picked it up after Plante. Cheevers started 'decorating' the plain white surface, and the rest, as they say, is history...

The Canada one is the best.
Though the polar bear mouth one is pretty cool .

As a goalie myself, I'd go with the Team Canada one. Litte patriotism never hurts . The black/red colour combo will match pretty well with most uniforms, too, aside from all-blue ones.

I've never been a big fan of custom goalie masks... the plain old Dominick Hasek look is fine for me.
There was a kid I knew in high school who was obsessed with goalie masks. He sucked in net. OTOH, our goalie my junior and senior years didn't care about his mask, and he was voted the MVP of the Chicago Metro West league.
