Stargate: SG-1 "Full Circle" (spoilers)
Last Friday's Stargate: SG-1 was clearly intended to be the series finale. Fortunately, for all concerned, Sci-fi picked it up for a seventh season. (too bad they didn't do that for Farscape. We're gonna see Tremors instead? When the SaveFarscape campaign beat out the Save StarTrek one?)
The Goodies: - The battle between Anubis and the SystemLords.
- The destruction of Abydos
- The discovery of what Anubis really is.
- Daniel opening a can of whup ass on Anubis, getting stopped by Ohma.
The crapitudes:
Only a one, really. Sam hadn't seen Daniel for a year, and their reunion was pretty weak. ("Hi Sam, hi Daniel")
I predict the mysterious city of the Ancients is Atlantis, any takers?

Seeing as the spinoff is going to be called Atlantis, I'd say that's a fairly good bet.

I'm not into science fiction at all but I had seen the movie years ago and stumbled onto the show three years ago when it was on Fox and though i usually dislike sci-fi, i liked Stargate cause it was some realistic in that it took place today and the aliens were really just copies of ancient civilizations.
Since the show's been on the sci-fi channel, it has gone down-hill. They started introducing all these other aliens and crazy **** like people dying and turning into half-god things. it's just stupid now.
I want to go back to American soldiers blazing M-16s on human/aliens with Horus masks on
thanks

It was intended to be the series finale (last episode of the series) but sci-fi gave it another year.

i figured it was planned to be the series finale... usually season finales leave some kind of 'to be continued' kind of thing but that episode ended with them being like, "we'll have some new problems later" but no cliff-hanger... also the return to the planet in the movie (at least i think it was the one in the movie) made it seem as though they was trying to end the series

I always hoped for it to slowly turn into a futuristic world, where the general populace knows of the aliens.

Well, they've come close a few times, but always manage to avoid full disclosure. One semi-recent episode they brought China, France, and the UK into the fold with the US-Russian "program". Only enough that they'd be made aware if a major threat arrived but not enough to have active say in how the program was conducted, it's still US command with Russian input.
Maybe next season...or the one after that ( Unlikely, given the consistent self-imolating behaviour of SciFi Channel)...they have something go wrong and a near-miss will be instead a partial reveal to the general population of the Tauri (what Humans from Earth are called by other Humans in the galaxy for those who don't watch Stargate SG1 ).

Oh that's bullcrap. I frigging hate the Russian stereotyping.
I was sooo pleased when there was this episode with a futuristic world, where another, supposedly benevolent race came and made people live much longer, yet it turned out they were chemically castrating everyone, basically, so RDA had to send a note back in space to let them know. I was so dissapointed that this sort of plot line wouldn't go on.

You do know that was part one of a three parter, right?
"2010", "2001", and the next one is going to be "2003" when the Aeschen attack earth.

Really advance Humans (in appearence) who act all goody-goody to get a foothold on earth. SG-1 stops them, thus ticking them off.

With the future Aeschen episode, I thought after future SG1 managed to send the message in Daniel's handwriting through the gate with O'Niell's blood all over it, SG1 in the past locked the Aeschen gate sequence (they hadn't gone to that gate nor met the Aschen yet) out of their dialing computer. There were other episodes featuring the Aeschens? What season was/were they? I don't get Showtime, so I'll have to wait until either UPN or SciFi play them.

Damn so that's what those things are called.
I liked it when T'elc (however the hell you spell his name) took that gun off the death glider and turned it into a big bazooka.

Yeah, there's a longer name for it, but you know O'Niell's character...
I think I missed that episode, though maybe not, I can't remember squat these days.
Give me a few minutes, I'll go get the "proper" spellings...

You mentioned an episode called 2003. Are they definitely going ahead with the third episode in the Aschen story arc then?

I began to have a negative view of the series after:
1. The Russian steriotyping began (without any reason, too!)
2. Daniel was slowly removed from the plots and became comic relief.
3. Daniel was removed altogether.
4. Jonas (the superhuman!) was his replacement.
Then I simply stopped watching the series.

So what are you saying...That Russians are not evil?
Paul, RDA has indicated that the Aeschen arc will be concluded this season. Obviously, most Geeky Fanboys(tm) have thus named it "2003".

Any word on the replicator menace, or are they to be left on the Asgarde homeworld for all eternity?
