I note two people have voted write-in, and yet they haven't posted who they're writing-in for. Odd...
Anyway, my vote should be obvious.

That puts Archaic neck to neck with Abstain. What happens if abstain wins? Won't Archaic get elected anyway?

Look back at the election back in.....I think it was October? While it really should happen where an election is unconcested that they're automatically elected by default, that's not what's happened.

Stalin's election as leader of the USSR was uncontested, and he was "elected" by default, IIRC. I wouldn't worry though Archaic, I think you'll make it. (But not as leader of the USSR, obviously )

The two people voting Write-in can still write their vote in for Mr. Abstain. If they do so, Archaic is currently loosing.

Asked for, and so shall it be given. Please not this if for humourous reasons only, and is not my view of Archaic. Indeed, it is an "appeal to ridicule"

I don't know. If Maniac is right and my vote is counted as a write-in for Abstain, then it must be repolled. If not then yes.
In fact, I am fine if my write-in isn't counted, and thus yes, you would be elected.

Well I could use my write-in vote (*) as Abstain, but I'll show my good heart.
(*) Just a matter of upholding tradition.

Congrats Archaic, I think we can safely count you as elected. I don't think that's unconstitutional is it?

I don't see why it would be. He gained more votes than either Write-In or Abstain, after all.

Yes, but it is not a clear majority. That may be an issue for some people.

Why would that be an issue? I won my election in Term I with barely 35% of the vote.

My apologies if this post is inappropriate for this thread, but doesn't the mere presence of the Abstain option preclude the possibility of using the Write-In option to vote for Abstain? After all, if you vote Write-In, you're deliberately choosing not to vote Abstain or for the candidate, but rather for an unlisted option.

That's much what I stated above: Abstain is not a candidate, so you can't write it in.

OK. So were all clear, Archaic is the DSE
Good luck Archaic. I'm sure you will do well. And can we expect a poll for next turnchat? Lemmy was planning one IIRC, but didn't do it in time)
