Civ2 Demo #2 Game Report
Is this good for a news announcement?
"The Civ2 Demo Game #2 has come to the conclusion. Laboring under the restrictions of only using representative governments, adopting a militarily defensive posture only, and demanding a successful landing on Alpha Centuri, we have acomplished that mission.
It was not an easy win, but we landed successfully on Alpha Centuri in 1906 AD. We struggled in the beginning with a difficult starting position and Capitol, the civ that was our tech rate determiner was far away, and we had a hard time to Republic. However, through diligent effort and numerous talented Citizens, Ministers, and Presidents, we have accomplished our goal!
The next game is being arranged now. This one is going to be a landmass game, military conquest, no building Wonders, no Caravans, no Barb game on an unknown map that apparently has some real surprises and challenges in it. We see this one as a pure “kill all the civs” game with lots of military action.

Should I send that to the powers that be?

You might want to wait until the poll on restrictions closes, even though the no-wonder, no-barb and no-caravan options seem to be popular.

The year of arrival has been corrected. And of course the settings would wait until the final results are in. When I posted, it seemed that everyone was voting against Caravans. I erred in the assumption the voting would continue in that direction.

Changed slightly to reflect polls:

"raging Barb" should be changed to "raging hordes barbs". Otherwise, it sounds eerily like someone I know
Beyond that quibble, sounds good to me

I'd fix the misspelling (Cent auri, ac complished). Also, I'd probably rephrase to say "we struggled with a difficult starting position and some less than ideal decisions made early on."
It also sounds like Capitol was the purple civ? Maybe, "And for those who understand how giving technology away can improve your research rate, our key civ started on the other side of the map (for those of you who don't, stop by and say hi - we'll explain )"
