Everyone ready for Tropico 2?
http://www.gamespy.com/previews/march03/tropico2pc/index.shtml
As always, sunning a small Caribbean Island, but this time WITH PIRATES is sure to be fun.

I played the demo and it is damn fun!
Capturing slaves, booty, and rich people for ransom; building shacks, Davy Jones' Locker, skulls; it's all there!
It's also hella easier to build stuff - no need to have construction buildings everywhere you want to build something.
You can also tell where you want the pirates to patrol - or have them attack a settlement - and they can become privateers! Squeeee!

Okay, if they removed that construction building stupidity, it might be a bit better.

It is probably interesting, but I have too many games to play and not that much time to do it.

Tropico was a moderately good strategy-game based on RRT2-engine. Looking forward to T2.

Couldn't agree more. That and the inability to build on slopes were my biggest beefs with the game.

Build on slopes? Most of the map was a slope, it was impossible not to build on a slope...

I just went to the Tropico 2 website, however it told me that I needed to have Flash 6 and Java enabled So I thought to myself, "What a bunch of rejects, they don't even know how to design a website."
Skipping that, I tried to download a demo. Lo and behold it wanted to set a cookie, which I rejected. After which, I found out that I couldn't download the demo. Screw that. What a bunch of complete rejects, why would they need to stick me with a cookie before I can download their game demo? It's them who want to entice me, arsewipes.

I don't do that either, but when the game starts to behave strangely without any reason at all - like building apartment blocks affects rainfall, or construction workers go to construction sites from the office, not directly from home - I get irritated.

Perhaps the construction workers need to "clock in" at the office in the morning or they don't get paid? That seems logical, plus maybe they have to pick up their tools from there.

I like those useless details . Like in Civ2, I liked the wonder movies and the demographics page. They make the game more enjoyable. Fluff is good.
