I select RANDOM for everything! The nations, the climates and everything else. I am talking every last option I select is set to random. It makes for an extremely different and interesting game everytime. You won't know for a while if you are on an islands map or continents or whatever. Usually I play on standard or large maps but sometimes I will play all the other sizes too. Also I play on either Regent or Monarch levels.

I like to play on random difficulty...THAT really spices things up!

Interesting Civ trivia: you can acutally play on a random-sized world (tiny - huge) by clicking a spot below the "Huge" selector (at least you could in prior patches). Not something I've ever done and, as I recall, a bit of a problem since you can't select a random number of opponents to correspond to the "random" map size.
