I've slowed down a bit lately though. Just bought GalCiv and have been doing schoolwork as I'm supposed to.

It's a cycle though, so no worries.

oh, yes. no there's a heavy poster if i ever saw one. He's in several DGs now (AC, C3, PTW...IS?) and posts about a bagillion per day. he made emperor shortly after kassi and a bit before me, and now he's almost at 4K

I just try to keep my average posts per day above 4, that way I'll make Emperor in about another year and Diety in about 5 more beyond that.

Naaah. I was happy when I got my avatar, and sort of tickled to make 'King' - there are a lot of Princes on 'poly but not as many Kings...

But Emperor would require 3 times as many posts as I have now, and Deity, 10x

So it feels like an accomplishment, as much as anything as inherently unproductive as posting on a computer games forum can be an accomplishment

On another note, and for those of you who are talking about 2006, 2008, 2010 to make deity: How long do you think this site will be around for? If there is no CivIV... will it all just fade away?

According to my calculations, assuming a steady rate of 0.76 posts per day, I should reach Deity around the day my dad turns 85. July 2034, that is.

If the 5 year cycle of new Civilization releases stays the same, we'd be working on "the list" for CivX.

But, since by then everybody else will be a Deity, the postcount levels would likely be adjusted, so Deity is at, say, 30,000 posts instead. In that case, it would be around the start of the 22nd century...
If I live healthy enough, I might make it that far.

I think I'll see it one of these days, I mean, in a little over a year I'm pushing emperor, I'll hit that relatively soon. Though my post count per day has declined recently... I'll give it anouther few years though.

I'll probably still be waiting for responses on some of my SMAX turns even then while some of my CtP games will probably still be going on.

Edit:

At my current post-count per day rate I'll be there by sometime in 3.3 years.

I figure that once I get Civ III for the Macintosh, I'll be able to complain about it in on-topic forums, thus raising my post count. Or, conversely, gush about it. Or, more likely, just play the dang thing and keep most of my thoughts to myself.

according to my profile I make 0.99 posts per day, meaning I'll reach deity in about 25 years.

(Math has never been my strong point so I may be wrong)

Hmmh. I had ~0.1 posts per day, before I got 350 posts in one weekend. Then I was given a PCR.
OTOH, I couldn't care less about some virtual-p3nis -competitions.
