Hypothetical situation: How do you tell someone who loves you, that you don't want to see her anymore?

That's how I did it, but it's illegal and in hindsight not necessarily the best advice. The point was for you to redefine yourself amongst your peer group as a sexual being so that your friends don't inadvertently sabotage your plans to get next to whomever you are interested in, and perhaps instead help you out by telling you who is interested in you, and puting in a good word about you with the object of your desire. My point was that having female friends is a great way to help you understand women, but if you get stuck being defined as only a "friendly guy" it can interfere with your plans to hook up with someone you really like. Redefine yourself and your social net can be a huge advantage for your romantic life.

Honestly. Tell her why the reasons you have for not seeing her anymore. Don't leave anything hanging because unfinished businesses are not healthy for you, but especially for her.
Don't be mean. Just word it out. Take your point across and then leave.
Oh, and after you leave. Don't come back...that gives mixed signals.

You're raising AH to "average male" status? tsk. tsk.
After reading this thread, the obvious problem that most of y'all have is that y'all think too much and act too little - and when you do act, you don't think.

People break up with me dispite me being, like, perfect. This is obviously a sign of some horrific brain disease similar to vCJD or laughing at German comedy. Should I put my ex's out of their misery the same way the poacher puts a baby seal out of it's own, fuzzy and highly valued in Paris, misery?

People break up with you because you are too perfect. I have to tell you, its annoying as hell, because you have nothing to whine about..and isn't that what the salt of life is made of?
Anyway. Be less perfect and more human (sp), and you'll have a better success rate. Otherwise, break up with them first.

the illegal part doesn't bother me too much....
the only problem is i'm not sure how to redefine myself... i like the way i am now, and a lot of my friends ask why i don't have a girlfriend - and i have no clue. it seems everytime a girl seems to like me they end up hooking up with one of my friends

What if, again hypothetically... ahhh, never mind. I know the answer, I just don't like it.

Long distance relationships are double edged. There's the poetic side that it will make your heart grow fonder, but then theres the part on which your usual self is all dumped, alone with no one to go anywhere.
And you know what usually happens. You get tired and start seeing other people while you're missing the other person.
Generally sucks.
I'd say, let go and set free.
(sting music in the background) free, free set them free.
so you'll be free too...
to live and learn what you have and what you don't, and to appreciate what you got when you do.

So your advice on dealing with a long distance relationship is to dump the girl I've been with for two years..?
Now you'll have to tell me how to do that without utterly destroying her

it depends on how long distance the relationship is. If the two of you are from different nationalities, it's harder to maintain the long distance relationship, but if she's going to Canada and you live in Nevada...it's not that big a deal.
But I have some experience in the "we're from two different countries" thing and I find that you both have as much fun as you can while you're together, but once you both have to go your separate ways and it's not certain if you'll see each other again...let her go. It sucks, but it's easier this way.

Most long distance relationships don't work but there are many exceptions to the rule.
Hey LTEC! what is your general feeling on "monkey bar" girls? You know the ones that won't end a relationship until they have ahold of their next one.
How common is this? Why would I want to go out with some girl who is making it known to me that she is extremely interested while at the same time has a boyfriend? Right off the bat there is a big strike against her. How can you trust somebody like that? I know I couldn't.

I don't even know what jock itch is (despite reading a thread with 100+ posts on it once)!
And I'm in the UK while she is going to Germany and Sweden.
