Crashing Problem
Ok folks , In my following game I have come accross a big problem with Crashes :-

Civ (or rather ptw) seems to crash when it get's 'overloaded', as I have only a modest PC that is often when I do something daring like enter diplomacy , the sound will go all choppy and eventually crash

There seems to be a problem with my HD, when I play civ I go in with literally hundreds of Megabytes free on my disk, but after the crash there is typically 1 or 2 megs to spare - clearly nothing. I have a suspicion this is something to do with Virtual memory?!

In any case, how do i avoid this problem??

Cheers
Matt

The obvious answer is to upgrade your system. More RAM and bigger hard drive will help this problem. Civ3 needs at least 400 Megs of free hard drive space to run according to the readme.

The Obvious answer is sadly the most unfeasable immidiate option...

When I played a scenario called Dry Land (I think something like that) and gained map of the civ which was on the south edge of the map the game crashed. But in normal game it' cool. Only that it take quite a lot to the AI end its turn
