a bit confused...
Alright, I've played up to what I consider the end of the turn, however several things puzzle me and I want to get them sorted out before I end the turn. there are at least 4 labor brigades not being used at this time! One in Leningrad, another in Stalingrad, and two outside of Yarensk. They fall under Henkrikov's, Paul Hanson's and curtsibling's command respectively. If the three of you could tell me what you want done with the units, I'll move them to the proper location and begin thier work now instead of next turn.
I don't mean to question my front commanders, but is there a reason that units that are in front of the advancing Germans are not being fortified? For instance, in grid (37.115) there is a machine gunner along the road to Kiev from Lvov in a fortress who has not been fortified. And in grid (36,126) there are a dozen Red Army units stacked on top of each other in a space that does not have a fortress on it! And in Lvov there is a single plane that could be evacuated from the frontlines still this turn, it is the onlyunit left in the town and the germans are directly outside.
In the Northwest front as well I see units with full movement points left that could be either moved to a better position or fortified if they are to remain there to slow down the German advance.
I'm wondering if some commanders have been a little careless in the use of their troops these early turns and are possibly squandering a chance of victory. And if I find that they have been bought by the Hitler or his army of dogs, I will replace the traitors.

Thankfully there is a Vetran fortified Position there so that one we can pass over.
I agree that the I-16 at lvov and leaving 2 i-16's in a hanger nearby is also a bit unusual esp when there are 3 JU-88's and a me182 in range to be shot down.

Only if they are not in your area of command, labor brigades are used by commanders to build roads/fortress's/airport and or build industry near the front line cities so now you have a plesant surprise!

Depending on which city the Fortified Position is supported by, we may want to move the Red Army units away from there, so they don't all get killed at once if/when the Fortified Position loses its city support.
I seldom fortify Machine Gunners - they're an offensive unit, really, and being Fortified won't help them much, anyway. Besides... does fortifying a unit within a fortress have any effect?

Ah crap, I forgot about the labour brigades. Use the ones in Stalingrad to build industry on the coal mine square near the city.

It sounds to me like threre may have been some confusion on exaclty which units fall under whos command and two commanders both assumed that the unit came under the other ones command. I think the Marshal should have the duristiction to contol any unit with movement left at the end of the turn.

yes that fortified position in question is supported from Odessa which means all those units are going to be vulnerable once the city falls...
As for the Northwest Front not moving units, which units have not been moved? Maybe I mistook someone else's command for units that are really under my control.

just do it yourself H tower,
use the planes around Kiev to kill the lutwafe planes around the city
the lvov plane cannot be saved so use it to kill the plane that is in the square (34,100) you will kill 4 planes
with the airplanes in the coal mine in lvov
move every unit that is left, the front comanders won't get mad
