Warning: blatant plug, here.
For those of you with an interest in historical empire-building strategy games, I'd just like to draw your attention to
Imperium - Rise of Rome.
Imperium is a strategy game simulating the Hellenistic world from Rome's first intervention in affairs outside Italy in the middle of the third century BC to the birth of the Principate a quarter of a millennium later. The game allows players to take on the roles of a faction of senators vying for control of Rome, a Patrician Clan struggling for control of Carthage, or the ruling house of either of the three Macedonian Successor states, at one of the most crucial points in world history - 270 BCE.
The game system will of course be highly modifiable, so player can build their own scenarios or even change the time period of the game completely.
If you visit the site, please note that the screenshots of the game are all from the pre-alpha version, and uses only "programmer art" (there is currently no artist for the project). If you have some graphical talents, historical interest, and would like to help on the project (or just to improve on the alpha screenshots
), feel free to contact me.
Also, any reasonable comments, feedback, etc., is of course also always welcome.
