Dogs. Especially Labrador Retrievers.
I have a cat somewhat like MtG's cat, picked up as a stray in the garage back home.
Best mouser you ever saw.

How are feral cats a threat to "the environment"? By the way, if you do want to do something to help out, adopt a feral cat (if you can catch one). Once they reach a certain age they are considered untamable but the kittens can be tamed. One of my cats was a stray, second cutest ***** I've seen
I do like dogs also however. I never got to have a dog growing up and I'd like to get one. When I figure out how to make some money with this box in front of me I will move to the country and have a big house with a bunch of cats and a couple of pit-bulls.

Cats and dogs both have moral value that must be defended.
Dogs are more like we humans, in that they can control their instincts.
Cats are aloof, but cannot disobey embedded instincts.
Cynocology (the study of dogs) is an interesting science.
Being an owner of a fine hound, I have been reading up about animal psychology.
A cat or dog is not any more intelligent that the other...
Each animal has a personality and individual spirit.
A dog can save people trapped in rubble, a cat cannot.
A dog can sniff out minefields or drugs, a cat cannot be trained to do this.
A cat can provide an extra set of ears and eyes for an old person, (as can a dog.)
A cat can give a lonely human a friend and someone to care for.
Both cats and dogs are excellent creatures, that fill a niche in human civilisation...
I do believe dogs and cats when raised together, make good buddies and can live in peace, as my dog did with our cat.
It's all down to training.
There is no conflict.

As two of my friends once argued:
"Cats"
"Dogs"
"Cats"
"Dogs"
"Cats taste better"
"Dogs taste better"
Like Skanky, I prefer cats, but will most likely end up with a big dog (and a cat I hope)

Feral cats are, like all cats, top hunters. In the wild, since all higher predators have been killed off, cats do huge damage to bird and rodent populations. Also, cat feces contains all sort of parasite and the feces from feral cats washes into draisn and so forth and is dimped into the sea. being untreated sewage it causes disease for some animals in the water.
sicne cats are so independent, they can form feral colonies much larger than dogs can.

Yes, their legs have been amputated and they actually scoot around kind of like snakes . They're just layin' down.

Cats vs. dogs?
Hmm... While I don't care much for either one, I think cats are less of a menace in traffic.

Cats are more common because of the number of old ladies that keep them by the dozens. I prefer fish, they flush a lot easier than cats.

Isn't one of the major complaints in metropolitan areas in regards to rats & pigeons? I find it to be more of a problem when they put rat poisin in the subways rather than the cats eating the rats...
