Could be fun if the mapmakers kept sort of a diary throughout the game which could then be revealed after the game is concluded (or the entire map is explored)... So that we could know what they thought when we did this and that ...

Are you sure? When computer-generating a Huge Map, archipelago, 80% water, I got the starting shown below. This one was the worst, but there were several others that were pretty bad. Now, I know you like a challenge, but this ..?!
note: Obviously, we're avoiding these kinds of start positions.

Ok, with Togas & BFM promising not to reveal unexplored map details; let's go with man made.

This poll may not have a deadline on it, so I will leave it open until elections start (a day away - see election nominations thread for exact time). As it is the result seems we will rely on Togas and BFM to give us something a little less unfriendly than the above....

Mapmakers update:
The map is now finishes ahead of schedule. BFM and I have begun running tests on the map to make sure that it's not too unbalanced. It should be noted that we made this map for 16 civs, and if the team wants to add more, we can do it, but we do not reccomend this as it would seriously weaken the playability of this map.

The map is ready, just PM either or both of us for the map when the game is ready to begin.

Mapmaking Update: Minor map revisions being started today to accomodate 24 civs.
Regardless of those changes, you guys had better be ready to fight early and often! If the neighboring civs don't get you, the barbarians will.
