Run-off poll: What is our choice of civilisation?
Well, the people have overwhelmingly voted in favour of TWO possibilities of civ choice. Although only one is really a civ and the other implies another decision to be made.
This is the last poll on civ choice. You may choose one option. The option with the most votes will be our choice.
Your options are:
Vikings
Random choice
Banana (abstain/don't care)
If anyone votes for random, please post your thoughts on how to determine the choice. I could always just random number generate with my calculator.
5 day poll, closing about 0737GMT Sunday (=0237EST Sunday).

To choose random, we could use an e-mail dice server like on http://www.irony.com/mailroll.html . Before we roll, we give each civ a number. Then on rolls a die and sets the e-mail-adres to a few forum members, who will post the number in this thread. Then we look what civ had the number on the die, and that will become the civ we play.

Actually - I'm a moron. You can select "Random" as a civ choice when starting the game.
Never mind - this seems to be the perfect way to randomly choose a civ - and the suspense will kill everyone when starting!
What do you expect - I AM Village Idiot.

Random. However, I think we should eliminate Egypt from the running, and possibly also the PtWDG civs (Spain, China, Ottoman, Arabia, Carthage, Persia). We could do this by making the random pick outside the game, or by simply restarting the game if we got one of them.

Random (using the in-game Random, of course ). Definitely restart if we get Egypt... I dunno what other civs should be stricken from the list. Whatever the restart list is, we should finalize it before starting the game (if random wins, of course).

Random - and of course using the in-game option to choose a random Civ. If you aren't prepared to accept any Civ you shouldn't be picking random IMHO.

Random with the in-game selector. And yes, I would say restart if we get Egypt or Carthage.

Since I don't want about half of the Random selections since they are too similar to Egypt or Carthage:
Vikings.

Random, but lets use a random number generator and don't include the ones we don't want for various reasons. Thats what I do with my games so I can play all the civs, once I play one I take it out so I will get another. Also I know this is a stupid question, but how do you get all civs(24) playing.

Aggie, you use the editor and revise the number of civs... don't remember the steps but it is fairly easy. YOu can even have all 24 on a tiny or small world if you like (kinda fun that way - one city each, be the first to get a couple of units and go at eachother....!!! )
