Or you can go up to 20 MG on the upload feature. Just upload the directory unzipped and see if that works.

Henrik, the screenshot looks really great (are those new units by Arne?). However, civ crashes when I try to load the scenario. The error message reads:
SMEDS application
Error: ERR_BADPICFORMAT
File: D:\Ss\Smeds32\Port.cpp
Line 909
Stack trace not yet available in WIN32
As I don't speak computer gibberish I haven't a clue what this means. I notice that it's looking for a file on the D: drive (which is my CD drive) - could this be the problem? Can anyone help?

Just one comment so far, apart from the fact that the scenario looks beautiful: Ofen should be north of Budapest (which should rather be Pest at that time). Not that I think this was really important, but my art teacher annoyed me with Budapest so often (I'm going there in two weeks) that I simply have no excuse for not noticing this

fairline: I've had that same problem often enough (not with this scenario... yet). I don't know either what the hades this is supposed to mean other than the game can apparently not run the scenario

I have no idea what this means (I am on a mac after all ). Are you playing civ with a "no cd patch" applied? That's all I can think of that would make civ act strangely when trying to acces a cd (why it would wan't to acces the CD in the first place I cannot fathom). If you're not using a "no cd patch" then getting one might solve it I suppose
This is all pure guesswork of course ;-o

Got any good suggestions for a town in roughly the spot Ofen is in now?

You could switch... Budapest to Ofen and Ofen to Budapest. Alternately, place Budapest a bit more to the east and put Ofen on the other side of the Danube.

The reason for this is the bad zips, I am working on it now with the help of PC users
Aparently one of the zips I tried earlier did work (as some people got it to work) but not the one I updated the first post to link to :-!

Couldn't you just post the directory itself or at least the individual files? The PBEM could at least start while you work on the zip problem...

Ok thanks to Steve I can now present this zip It should work fine.
http://apolyton.net/upload/files/Hen...nalVersion.zip
The link in the first post was also updated.
Now why did this problem have to surface upon release when I managed to zip all the playtest versions without causing any problems at all for my testers

Ahem ahem...
If you want to fix this for anyone who loads in the future that's fine, but could you just email me the non-zipped files in the meantime so I can start the PBEM?
EDIT: Got to Steve on AIM, files sent.

I've played several PBEM turns lately from zipped savegames without a problem. Either there's something wrong with the zip above, or my WinZip is 'occasionally' working.
Anyway, if this problem's only happening for me, then I'd say leave as-is since Steve mailed me the files.

Hey, just a question to those who've played the scenario already: How long does it take to transform terrain? I've been trying to transform the swamps in the Low Countries for a longass time now...and still nothing...anyone know about how long it'll take?

I dont know, changing woods to hills doesn't sem to take that long.
Henrik the designer would know.

You're going to have to try for a very long time if you want to use the "O"/transform command.
The program malfunctions if you set a terrain to transform to nothing, resulting in strange non terrain/resource tiles. So instead I've set all terrain to transform to itself when using that command. Sorry, atleast engineers still work twice as fast as settelrs
I thought I noted this in the readme? If not it'll definatly be added when I update the scenario.
In any event, if you actually look in the order menu rather than just press 'O' you'll see what you can transform to, which for the most of the time, is the same terrain you're allready standing on.

My misstake, you're transforming swamps, non?
Base time for engineer transformation is set to 45.
Use teams of two engineers and it shouldn't take too long to turn it into grassland.
Draining swamps takes time you know

45 turns? It's definitely been much, much, long. It's 2444 now and I seem to remember doing this when it was 2200. (Yes, I'm bored, so I usually just end up consolidating my territories and pillaging the world until I get bored...)

More than two then (any number above two is irrelevent as the game only uses 2 at a time even if you order more...).
I'll have to look over the terrain transformation setting I suppose...
Could you try reducing it yourself to see if it makes any difference?

Reducing the engineer transform time in the rules? Do I just have to reload the game for the new rules to take effect? Or do I have to do something screwy like delevents from the saved game?
