Weird French people.
I was in France a few weeks ago, and there´s one thing I remember perfectly. A French girl (oooh, they're nice, the French girls) asked me which lanugage we speak in Sweden!!
They honestly believed we speak English as mother tongue!!!
I mean, come on, we speak English THAT well????

It's not unusual. There were people in my French class at school who thought that French was the official language of the Netherlands.

Nah, Thirgaral, American geographical knowledge is way, way, worse than you can possibly imagine.
When I was about 13 (13 years ago, !), I was out in California on a family vacation. We visited Lake Tahoe. While there, I was hanging out with a kid who was about my age (dunno if he was local or another vacationer) and he asked where I was from. I told him: Connecticut. He asked me what State that was in.
Connecticut, I calmly explained, isn't "in" a State, it IS a State. Further, it's one of the original 13 States! ****ing unbelievable.
And that's not even the half of it.

"Do they speak English or French in China?", asked my classmate in the 9th grade from me.
How old was the girl you are speaking about?
