Would you participate in a OCC (One City Challenge) AU course?
The title is self-explanatory, I think.
Plug: OCC is a fun and a great way to learn about the game! Are you tired of pushing units around after AU207? Then this is for you! If you're on the fence about what to vote, consider that the game will be short, and if you win you'll get a free OCC Badge of Honor (while supplies last).

Apparently the Poll option did not work. Just post to vote.

I vote yes.
I have had some doubts about how much I'd enjoy it, but I can't find anything really wrong with the idea.
It could get started right away, giving us something to do while we come up with the next class.

I'll do that, after school is over and when I have finished AU 207 (end of april that is)...
It will be a first time for me too, but I'm sure I'll enjoy it!

Boo! Actually playing Civ3 on a more or less regular basis should be a requirement for posting on the Civ3 Strat forum.
I'm sure you could squeak in an OCC game when wife/RL is not looking, right badams!?

I'd be willing to try it. It would be extremely useful to have some advance warning about what difficulty level it makes sense to play on relative to our usual difficulty levels (probably based on prior knowledge of the map by whoever sets it up). One thing's for sure: I'm not ready to go for a OCC on Emperor on any but the most highly rigged of maps.

I'd play, but with no commitment to play and post within any period of time. I've played several OCCs and am not sure I'll have a tremendous amount to learn with another such game ('though, like Nathan, I haven't really tried OCC above Monarch -- and most such games at Regent or below). Also, I've been playing so peacefully recently that I need a good conquest victory in the Middle Ages to purge my built-up aggression.

I vote for yes,
although I've never played AU games before. So I will be very disappointed in myself if I loose after 10 turns in my FIRST AU game. But, maybe I can say: "Heh, I don't really like OCCs ".
Some tips, tricks and hints for newbies like me from seniors are welcome.

Yep I'm in! It would be my first AU game but not my first OCC game. If this be set up for non PTWers as well that is.
Btw, do you guyS know where I could order an amerikan copy of PTW? I have the amerikan version so I guess that I should get the american PTW as well. For the patches if nothing else.

Cross-posting...
In your other thread you mentioned that you wanted to know if anyone else was playing stock Civ III (no PTW)...I am and I'd love it if you made the scenario for both.
Thanks a ton for the work that you're putting in for our enjoyment Dom!

Yes I would play.
Also, I agree with Nathan - I couldn't handle it on anything higher than Monarch. I tried a few Emperor OCC games yesterday and it was no fun.
In the past I've played a few on Regent, though, and those were great. I'm willing to play on Monarch for an extra challenge, but Emperor is a step too far for me.

Actually I'll probably should and will stop posting in threads like these, but just try and stop me from posting in the strategy threads.

Would be kind of difficult since I no longer own the game, no? *sigh*

Well, I've never tried an OOC, I've never played an AU game, I always play builder style on huge maps and I have a self-indulgent and inefficient style of play. So what the hell, I'm in.

I enjoyed AU207 until the map size got too much for my computer so I would like to try another game with the AU mod. I've never played OCC so why not!

How would you get those luxuries and resources in OCC game?
If not buying from other civs, can be a solution to built colonies ?
Are the colonies destroyed, when the other civ builds a city beside it? If yes, than I have to forget this solution and I have to get the money out from my pocket to finance the happiness.
