Let's make an example with your "dry dock". This can of course only be built in coastal cities and as a small wonder. As this battleship can only be build in a city with the "dry dock", it is specialized!
Yeah, I like big maps too! I might only play on the smaller ones if I'm playtesting something.

I was thinking in terms of making a specialized city... But you mean a building that makes an UU available for all the cites? Can be done the same way by letting the small wonder add a certain building ("dry dock") to all the cities and this building is required to build the unit. It will look strange, but is a work around until they maybe make specialized cities fully implemented in Civ4

hi ,
 , the UU comes only out of the drydock , ....
and the drydock should be able to speed up repairs to your naval units and to the units of your allies , .... > thats why i got stucvk with it (!)
i send a PM to Gramphos , who knows , we might be able to come up with something afterall , .....
in CIV II this was easy , ......

I don't think there is any way to make sush a wonder work.

Panag : maybe you should post the "dry dock" idea in either the Civ4 suggestion thread, or the "next XP" thread ? I'm sure the Firaxians would love this kind of ideas, as it brings more stuff to the game without demanding a revolutionary design change
