What's happening to Simcountry?
My, I leave for a cpl weeks and the whole world collapses
What are they trying to do, killing Simcountry? What kind of a sane person would ever pay 5$ a month to play such a game? And what's happening to Apolyton Federation, some promising members just stopped playing all of sudden, the game is dying

I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

They are now charging for all the worlds that used to be free? Wow, bye bye game.

Not charging for the free worlds, just making it less likely you can achieve anything relevant there.
They will be resetting players' countries every 3 to 4 months.
From the site:

5. Many questions on the issue of resets
This is to clarify this issue:
Currently nothing is reset and will not be for some time
We will introduce a feature to allow you to move your country or enterprise to Golden rainbow if you wish to do so. This feature will be limited but the work of building an economy and an army will be preserved.
Some time before the introduction of the MOVE feature, individual players will see their reset date on their home page and may decide to have the reset or move their country. Everyone will have many weeks to decide.
Any step we may take will be announced on time on the game news.
Resets when implemented will not be for the whole world at one date, but for each user separately, depending on the date of registration.
Simcountry is run by a group of very experienced developers working full time on the game. As we said before, our finances are fine and we can continue but we are spending large amounts of money to keep it running.
If we want to keep the development of the game in the long run, funds will be needed to cover the cost.
We never thought that $ 5 per month could represent a huge problem.
W3creative does not intend to stop free playing. The free worlds will continue to run and will be extended if needed. However, we are in the process of creating two different games.
The limited game, with many features; where the competition and ability to build an economy and an army are limited to three or four months. We intend to somewhat ease the policy of winning gold awards.
The extended game, with a fast growing number of advanced features and an unlimited development period. Our intention is to add more worlds with different parameters and rules.

Granted, you can still do quite a bit in 3-4 real months, and resetting prevents people hogging the top slots merely because they started ahead of everybody else.

Just imagining the frustration of game hours spent on it lost forever just killed me. The could just cull the top spots, or tax them, if they wanted to.

Well, every other sort of game like this has resets and people don't usually mind. It's often looked at as a chance to start fresh and try a new strategy.

The game would have to move much faster for me to still play when they have resets every 3-4 months.
I'm still playing now, as nothing is set in stone as of yet, and having some fun warmongering.

Most these other games have longer reset periods, and they are less taxing time wise.

With Simcountry, you can generally only do stuff to your country once a day. Getting your country built up from the neglectful state the computer starts you in takes up a fair majority of the 3-4 months you are given also, and that is without any experimentation that could slow down the growth of your country.
