Not yet. I work nights so I tend to become embedded in the morning.
Osweld, thank God that's not the case.

Reuters carries this story
Great news if it holds true.
BTW, Osweld is the top runner for most cynical bastard this Sunday morning for the above remark. Shame.

AS SAYLIYA CAMP, Qatar (Reuters) - The U.S. military said on Sunday six Americans had been recovered alive in Iraq (!!!)

Another war thread? Why isn't this closed already?

I understand your confussion UR. When someone starts war thread about Iraqi NBC weapons which weren't found- his thread will be closed. At the same time if war related thread about rescue of American POWs is started- it's OK.
We are living in very complicated world. Rules and warnings that affects one group of people, quite often do not affect another group of people.

This deserves it's own thread. POW's are not liberated everyday. But I am sure that some here will find a way to turn this into a negative event. Sorry for more good news.

So, why UR's don't deserved its own thread?
Mr. Powell claimed that Iraq have NBC weapons, G.W. Bush launched war because he believed that those weapons will be used against America. And when finally American forces found no evidence of such weapons, and UR started thread about this, surprise, surprise his thread was closed as another war thread.
This thread is clearly another war thread and it's not closed.
Democracy my ass.

Serb, UR's thread was closed because it was redundant.
And it was closed by MarkG, whom, iirc, is not the biggest US foreign policy supporter on these boards. MarkG even helpfully redirected UR to the appropriate thread.

The same reason you make that comment in every thread you don't like and still saw fit to start a war thread of your own.

Oh, Ming's around somewhere. He shut down my thread about the dude who decapitated himself on a wrought-iron fence while running from the cops.
Not to threadjack, but I have a question: although my thread did not violate the written rules governing what couldn't be posted, he said I should have exercised common sense and intrinsically known that the thread would be offensive, and summarily shut down. I posted links to pics, not pics themselves, and gave fair warning of their graphic nature. Are we just not allowed to post graphic or dsturbing stuff, period? Or should we have an option to run everything by Ming to get his approval of potentially sensitive stuff first?
Back on topic - I'm really glad we found more POWs, and that they seem to be reasonably well. Let's hope we find the others...

you mean we can loot POly now?
On topic: very good news. Hopefully the other missing will be found in equally good health.

Happy as pigs in slop.
U.S. Army Spc. Edgar Hernandez, 21, of Mission (left), Army Spc. Joseph Hudson, 23, (center) and Army Pfc. Patrick Miller, 23, were among the seven POWs rescued Sunday.
Marines found seven missing U.S. soldiers Sunday, bedraggled in POW garb, in a jubilant turn for their families, and met little resistance as they entered the hometown of the vanished -- and perhaps dead -- Saddam Hussein.
