Which war leader will lead us to victory over all?
Who shall we choose to lead the feared hordes of horned Apolyton soldiers into battle against the pathetic civilised nations of our world?
Who is best fit to form an army capable of taking any stronghold, of razing any structure?
And who will be remembered forever as the most bloodthirsty of those whose thirst is for blood?
The warriors who have risen their axes and grunted loudly enough to be heard are:
UberKruX
mrmitchell
Banana

I vote UberKruX!
If it only didn't come with the annoying side effect of having to see more posts with animated avatars than usual... but, oh well.

UKX, no doubt about that. Experienced player with good tactics. Mitch also rants on the #apolyton IRC channel, so he gets a big minus.

Choice was hard, but like Rasbelin said, mithc's ranting at #apolyton must be rewarded with a big, black, Norwegian TRUE-COD...uhm, I mean with a big red minus

Forgot to mention that he has tried to spoil at least several Pub Quizes, which is a tabu.

Aggie stepped down when he heard i was running. Me and him are complimentary
i'm sure he'll be playing a big part in the military planning nonetheless.

that would have been a close election indeed. either way though, both of us are going to be big wis in military planning, despite whichever of us has the officil title.
remember, we're both fairly open and listen to the input of the populus

So - without knowing the map or who are neighbors are, who do you plan on killing first?

this is what we got in terms of the map.
World Size: Huge
Ocean: 80%
Landmass: Archipelago
i've started a few games as the vikings with these settings, and i have always ended up alone on a small island, with nearby islands.
but our map is going to be man made, apparently, so none of that matters i guess
assuming they adhere to the standards set forth, we should end up on a realitevly small island. with 24 civs to place, there are plenty of people for them to place, so it's not completely unforseeable that someone starts on our island.
i would push for complete and utter destruction of anyone on our island. if there is only one opponent on it, i'd just wipe them out. if there are two or more (somehow), i'd want to fight oscillating (sp?) wars and grab techs for peace.
if we end up alone, on a tiny island, i don't have much work ahead of me, now do i? simple scouting jobs until it's all discovered, then strategic scout placement to keep back the barb encampments.

I agree the map generator gives you a small isolated island to yourself about 7/10 with these settings.
Watch, they 'made' the map so that we have two opponents on our island, Greece and Carthage, and no Iron to be had.

Carthage? Greece? As Jeff says in your sig, Uber.....
And congratulations too. This will be a lot more war-heavy than the first game, so it is with pleasure I note the military will be controlled by old war-dog Uber. I'm timing how long it will take until our first destroyed civ...
Thanks to mrmitchell for making this an election, and not just a confirmation.
