Yeah... #2 is much fun. Interesting, it seems those that played F2 first prefer it, while those that played F1 first like it more... I played F2 first, and then tried to go to #1 to understand some of the references to it from the sequel better. But I never beat it. I think this time around I just might. I usually get bored as soon as I get to the Hub, though. We'll see how it gos this time. But without the "Take All" button when searching places, and the car, it's just not as fun.

I played 1 first but enjoyed 2 much more. Interface was better, better options and the like. The car rules, I'd never have found it if I hadn't asked about it in this very forum though

That's supposed to happen, in the conversation that follows you get to option to marry her/him.
It's a nice feature, but it's not really usefull...their stats are civilian like, and have poor weapon skills. IIRC They also won't leave your side because they love you so much...
You can sell her/him to slavers though for a few hundred $.

Yeah, they won't leave you and they both ended up getting blown to pieces in my games.
And I'm not as evil as Lemmy, I never sold them into slavery (though I did ask the slavers about it )

Slavers... I just usually wait till I have some good guns, usually after visiting vault city and / or NCR, and then come back to the Den to chop everyone up. Not that I really need Vic by then, but...
Oh, and by the way... Has anybody noticed the reference to "real world" that Trader Vic embodies?

I liked shooting the slavers in the eyes with a gauss rifle, but then I liked shooting all of my enemies in the eyes with a gauss rifle
And no, I didn't note any references re: Vic

Didn't think so. Even the largest collection of fallout easter eggs I know of:
(** NOTE that some of these EE's might be spoilers **)
http://www.nma-fallout.com/fallout2/eggs/
Even that one doesn't have it.
Any one else, maybe?

I played religious psycho in fallout 2. Whay do I have feeling that creators of fallout dissliked religious psychos?
BTW Nawaro is finishable in one or two attemts.
Only problem was with random encounters. If you'd kill 18 dead squads there should be much less death squads. Then again nice weapons.

Okay, as far as Trader Vic goes, since nobody seems to have any ideas:
There is this line of restaurants, called Trader Vic's. They are located all over the world, and have some of the best food. In fact, I dare say the Trader Vic's of Atlanta is one of the three top restaurants of that city. But at any rate, there is one of those located right next to where the company was located when they made the game.

Well, I myself learned about it a little over a year ago... But now, I love to go there. There are few of them, though:
There is one in Atlanta, three in California, one in Illinois. And I think that's all as far as the USA goes... All the rest are in other countries. I remember there are some in Egypt, England, Germany, and Japan. I'm sure there are more, but I don't remember where. The point being, though, that Black Isle was located next to one of those Californian ones.

that figures, I've never been to any of those places, except for Japan, which was only a layover at some airport many years ago

LOL I never tried with a luck of 1. I did try with like an intelligence of 2 or 3. The game was virtually unplayable though
I'm going to have to try to play with a luck of 1 now. what else should I lower. I won't lower strength as that would be a pain in the ass. I wonder how many pounds you can carry with a strength of 1.
In fact. let me load of the game right now, I want to check a few of these things.

hmm, it says I have to use all of my character stats before starting the game. I guess I can't lower them all to 1
and I can't weild a spear with a strength of 1. I can equip it but with a -37% chance to hit an giant ant, I don't think I'll go very far. I'll have to stick with unarmed.

well I died.
note: do not play a character with a strength of one. doing one and two damage to giant ants isn't very useful.

ahh, low intelligence. I should try that some time. But I always tried to put my Charisma and intelligence on high levels.
ColdWizard: you'll have people exploding anyway, with the brand new rocket launcher! Those supermutants sure are a big lug of meat.

I don't like rocket launchers, my packmules tend to get in the way and get themselves killed off

Low charisma is interesting. No friendly target fire, then again with low reputation it isn't possible to get too much companions.
Best weapon is knife, very nice against snipers. Have you defeated that master in was it frisco? The last city before enclave.

IIRC if you'd kill one of that guys he would stand up. Interesting feature. Yes with exception of that last guy in the combat.

In San Fran? Well I killed the leader of the sciento... I mean hubologists. It was easy, and picking up their assault rifles was rather fun. (though completely useless ).
I came to one of them kongfu masters, and just wasted him with a Light Support Weapon. It was nice to see his ribs.

hmmm, accorind to No Mutants Allowed ( one of the few fallout sites that's still updated) a new Fallout game is coming out
It's called Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel (note: this is not the same game as Fallout Tactics:Brotherhood of Steel)
alot of people on NMA's boards are calling it Fallout: Piece of **** because it's only going to be on Playstation 2 and X-box.

Most of the games that are "console only" aren't worth playing anyway.
Anyone remember Obi-Wan and the hell that raised when LucasArts decided it was going to be on a "next generation console?"
