Sheepstan Elections
This is part of the verdict given by the court, regarding the rule of Sheepsta:
Quote:
|
In short, I will post a poll, and election for the people to Sheepsta (which in RL will be represented by all national delegates) which will determine North and South Sheepsta's future. It will last for 3 days, and will consist of 4 options (Real life explanations in brackets):

- I want to stay protectorate of Alecrast/Bulbagarden (things stay as they are)
- I want to be under the protection of the court (password given to a nation delageted by the court)
- I want to be a protectorate of New Sheepsta (passwords given to Sheep)
- I want to be part of a Unified Sheepsta with all the Sheepstan people (Destroy North and South Sheepsta, and create a "Unified Sheepsta", or RP all into New Sheepsta).
|
If you wish to read the whole verdict, please go to The Court Verdict.
This is the election spoken of. Please presume you are a Sheepstan Citizen. What would you rather be done with your country. This is not a poll to decide any legal argument, but simply what is best for Sheepsta. Your options are:

- I want to stay protectorate of Alecrast/Bulbagarden (things stay as they are)
- I want to be under the protection of the court (password given to a nation delageted by the court)
- I want to be a protectorate of New Sheepsta (passwords given to Sheep)
- I want to be part of a Unified Sheepsta with all the Sheepstan people (Destroy North and South Sheepsta, and create a "Unified Sheepsta", or RP all into New Sheepsta).
For your information, here is the url for North Sheepsta and South Sheepsta, as they stand at the moment.
Thank you for voting, please vote wisely
You have 3 days.
Edit: Partly because I meant to but forgot to post earlier, and partly because Sheep did not like his vote being split, but mostly because for the people to ratify something, I feel we need a majority, if this poll fails to give a clear majority for one of the options, there will be a run-off of the two highest, that will give a clear majority. This is to prevent vote spliting, as the bottom two options, both in Sheep's favour, could split the vote and agive a different result, but we could not include Sheepsta becoming part of Alecrast, since Archaic has already stated that that isn't what he wants.

If you don't like either nation, choose the court. However, both are quite far, with a Coporate Bordello, and a Corrupt Dictatorship. But then again, it's your decision, which would you prefer.

I don't think the Court would mind much if you told them you were changing your vote.
/me would like to point out the fact that under Alecrast and Bulbagarden protection, that the governments have focused on Education, Social Welfare, and Commerce, and that the fact there are poor and starving people is more a factor of the still continuing war with Sheepsta (They didn't let up during the trial, and they're still going on during the elections) than being a factor of the governments welfare spending itself.
/me would also like to point out that "New Sheepsta" is a Corrupt Dictatorship, with Below Average Civil Rights, a Weak Economy, and Few Political Freedoms. Its cynical population of 125 million are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich, and private enterprise is illegal.

Both North and South Sheepsta are now on "Vacation Mode" and will be until the election ends. This is so they are in the same condition as when for return to Archaic, or with no more harm done for return to Sheep, depending on your opinion

Drouge hasn't PMed me back about this, so I'll post here so he notices.
Someone the day before yesterday made Nationstates send me new passwords for North and South Sheepsta. I'd like to know who and why.

No. I mean someone seems to have used the lost password function of Nationstates to send me new passwords for North and South Sheepsta, after I'd already sent my passwords to Drouge.

I highly doubt it (They were northsheepsta and southsheepsta), unless he changed them. Though I don't know why he didn't change it to his email when he put them on vacation mode. That lost password screen needs the email that's registered to the nation when you use it, so whoever did it, they knew full well I'd be getting it. I'm sure Drouge has been on since then, however he's said nothing to me about it, which seems rather strange.

Sorry, I have not been on the past few days. I did not press that, and forgot to change it to my email address Archaic: Can you please PM me the password as it says in the email, I tried to change it to north and south to be easier to remember, but it seems to have not gone to that. Thank you, and I'm very sorry for the ****-up

Thank you, have been received. Now realise that since someone hit the send passwords, the old passwords didn't work
Since this poll is now closed, North and South Sheepsta will be left to run out, and Sheep can now have a Unified Sheepsta that he has wanted. The people have spoken, we have a majority, let it be done

It seems no run-off than
a 53% majority is a really big one.
However Wine observers are concerned at the very low rate of Sheepstan who cared to vote in this elections, we wonder if we should try a little more and give the others a bit more time to vote.

I disagree, I cannot lengthen this poll, and it has been closed. Moreover, 15 is no less than usual, and it was advertised in the corut thread, by PMs, and on the region page.

Excuse me Drogue, but TKG changed his vote to the court. That last option didn't get its majority when you make that change, so we should be having the runoff (Preferably with the suggestion you should've got via Wine by now).

Uhmmm, the percentage of "Unite Sheepsta" with TKG changing his vote would be 46,67, which means run-off
As for the suggestion proposed, I'm sorry to say it didn't had much success Archaic, because some judges say that it doesn't make much sense to add new ideas to a run-off, thought not all judges said their own. (IIRC It is 2-1 supporting your proposal)

Moreover, we cannot have a run off with another option.

It's not another option, it's mearly changing the existing option to reflect a situation more preferable to the one you've put there, one that these parties did not want in the first place. And TKG as far as he was concerned DID change his vote, which I confirmed with him via PM 2 days ago.

Archaic: I did not see that PM (obviously) and was working on what he had posted. As he has now said not to change it, it will go ahead as voted. There is no need for a run-off. North and South Sheepsta will be left to lapse, and it is up to Sheep if he wishes to either incorporate it all into New Sheepsta, and keep that as the entire area, or call the new nation United Sheepsta.
