August 1941: The Germans Advance
germans capture lvov 49,000 rubles lost
The only bright spot in the Soviet Army's performance fades away: The desperate defense of the old fortress of Brest ends as the last surrounded, outnumbered defenders are slaughtered. The Bialystok salient has ceased to exist
germans capture petsamo 30,000 rubles plundered
army group north, under field marshal Von Leeb, captures the Baltic port of Riga. The german panzers now turn north towards tallinn in the former baltic state of Estonia. The population of the baltic states receive the germans as liberators. Strong anti-soviet feelings prevail in these regions, caused by their recent military annexation by the soviets.
germans plunder riga, 49,000 rubles lost
treacherous anti communists betray the people: your 45mm anti-tankgun defects to the germans!
the black sea port of odessa falls to the advancing germans under Von Rundstedt. the capture of this port poses a major threat to the soviet economy and opens the coastal road to the fortified port of sevestopol
germans capture odessa, 98,000 rubles lost
germans capture tallinn 56,000 rubles lost
germans capture pskov 29,000 rubles lost
92 units lost
Reinforcements moved forward...
Many (not all) refugees near the front moved to the rear. But I may have missed some
From now on, when Front commanders return the save, please post who has already taken their turn and who has yet to play.
Marshal part 1 (H Tower) Done
Murmansk (STYOM): Not yet
Baltic (Henrik) Not yet
Northwest (The Anzac): Not yet
Belorussian (colwyn): not yet
1st Ukranian (Shaka Nuldur): not yet
2nd Ukranian (Paul Hanson): not yet
Economic (greeny): not yet
Armaments (curtsibling): not yet
Marshal part2 (H Tower) Not yet
Note: This is not the exact order of play
Clarifying: Front commanders are responsible for ALL units in their territory save the supply convoys which are under the control of the economic minister once they land in murmansk or any other russian port. This includes refugees and labor brigades. Although I do urge future marshal's to move the refugee convoys away from the front themselves to territory under the control of the armaments minister. My reasoning is that several movement points may remain once the refugees enter the area under the command of the armaments minister. This way the armaments minister has all the refugees in place during his turn without the possibility of missing one that gets moved to him after he has gone that turn.
For definitions of the various positions, see this thread: http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...threadid=82258

Sorry what do you mean by save? I'm about to post the end of my turn, but I'll wait a while in case there is a problem.

I am just assuming (I know assuming can be dangerous) but Henrik posted his turn and no one has signed it out sooooo, it looks like the next available guy can play.
Someone correct me here if Im screwing up. Im stil in learning mode.
BTW Shaka do you know Javier Munoz and Manolo Palma? Two of my favorite guys from the Spanish site. I think Manolo is in semi retirement from CIV for a while though.

Commanders taking your turn ??
The motherland is in peril, commanders can you take your turn more quickly? I see many of you at your dacha's, posting news in forums but not taking the save, playing your turn in this first stage is a very quick affair and it would be good to move through it more quickly.
ie I sorta thought within 3 days commanders should move, the save is logged out only for a hour or so, so getting its not hard. Arn't we Civ addicts?
Now where are those NKVD "morale" troops when you need them.

Sorry couldn't take the inaction and I'm not sure whether somebody took the turn or not, so I am posting mine. More troops brought back to Demyansk and Kalinin, refugees moved east.
I ask that Kalinin be put under my control so I can help organize the defenses there.

The Murmansk front.
Marshal part 1 (H Tower) Done
Murmansk (STYOM): Done
Baltic (Henrik) Done
Northwest (The Anzac): Appears to be done
Belorussian (Colwyn): Done (see my forum for details)
1st Ukranian (Shaka Nuldur): not yet
2nd Ukranian (Paul Hanson): not yet
Economic (greeny): not yet
Armaments (curtsibling): not yet
Marshal part2 (H Tower) Not yet
Machine Gunners kill 2 Finnish units outside Viipuri.
2 enemy units killed outside Kitela, at the cost of one of our Antitank Guns.
Finnish Infantry vanquished outside Kandalaska.
Our spanking new Katyusha destroys a Finnish infantry near Murmansk, and an unidentified German plane in Petsamo.
2 German subs sunk by British cruiser, another U-boat sunk by destroyer.
Another Finnish infantry unit destroyed N of Viipuri near Kitela.
2 convoys of much needed supplies go to sea.
Various infrastructure sold for 420,000 rubles.
Stavka requests, in order of importance: rushed Barracks in Kitela, AA in Kandalaska, T-34 (or KV-1, I hope) in Viipuri. The T-34 in Murmansk in production should be switched to KV-1 when those are available, and the Freighter can be rushed in Archangelsk if possible. Production has started on an I-16 in UK, but what STAVKA really wants in the UK are PE-2's, or ideally, IL-2 Shturmoviks So don't rush anything in the UK until those units are available. We get tons of ships via event there, anyway.
- Comrade General Styomovich

Serafimovich AA battery 430 but I really need to buy it, really need to..
T 34/76 200 at poltava
some things, Perekop, rostov, and astrakan don´t have barracks
I'm going to need an AA battery at Saratov by summer 1942 if paul could send me one from stalingrad, you should send a few units to serafimovich, I won´t be able to defend it without the Stalingrad units
and you have the caucasus cities to reinforce your front, and I have nothing to reinforce those units at the moment
or rushbuying a barracks at Uralsk and building the unit there, if now will loose Saratov and we will have no more nkvd troopers
Kiev will hold until October for sure, and if we are lucky the city will be us in November

Right, I've taken the file.
Shaka, I'll send some stuff up to Serafimovich, and I'm sure I can spare an AA battery for Saratov. I'll get on it now.

Turn played.
Shaka, I've transferred an NKVD trooper and 3 T-26 tanks to your command (the T-26's were the best units I had in Stalingrad, unfortunately), along with an AA battery. The NKVD trooper is just west of Serafimovich, the T-26's are just to the east of it and the AA battery is located at 74,124, en route for Saratov.
980,000 rubles worth of improvements have been sold to fund the war effort.
Rushbuild requests:
Perekop: Barracks 60,000 rubles
Kerch: Motorized Infantry 95,000 rubles
Novorossiysk: Motorized Infantry 56,000 rubles
