Finnish must be the first foreign language to actually make the spelling of "English" look like "English".

A shame I don't know any Hebrew to suprise You nicely...
I have a friend who in fact teaches Hebrew, but I meet her pretty irregularly.

Yeah, this pop-up is fine if you want to promote the image of the average Apolytoner being a nerd who gets their rocks off by looking at pictures of Britney Speers over the internet.
And I'm sure poly only has a 1.5% Brintney-nerd count

Sorry NYE, but this (as ming says)
isn't a democracy
If the mods want to remove my avatar, then they shall do that. You can voice your opinion about it (though that thread, "Why is this tolerated?", basically complained about the same thing.....Yet the mods have taken no action against me.). PM Ming. Or start a thread.
Just as I'm doing here. Petitioning for the mods to take away this ad. For the same reasons as last time. Refer to "Time to get rid of the evil poly porn ad" (Or something of that nature) thread for more information.

Ok Tassadar you are going through the right procedures. But surely you must see the inherent contradiction in displaying murderous dictators in your avatar and then getting worked up about the 'pornographic' nature of a picture of a clothed woman. I for one think you just like arguing.

The solution here is obvious - counter the Britney posters with the exact opposite.
As well as a young, (arguably) attractive woman, we need an old, bordering-on-deformedly-ugly man.
Is Sean Connery available?

Yeah, it could work, but so would dropping a bomb on the adserver's HQ. There's such a thing as workable solutions, man.

Of course, on both counts
But now the murderous dictator has been removed and has been replaced by a benevolent American exercizing freedom of speech.

I always get both. Maybe Britney and gambling are impossible to separate from each other.

As others have said before: pop-up blockers work wonders, or netscape 7 or opera 7. Both browsers have the ability to stop pop-up adds from happening. THe only reason I even saw the Britney Spears add was cause someone posted into this thread.
And I still haven't seen the gambling add.
BTW, if you think the Britany add shouldn't be supported, I hate to imagine what you thought of the babe threads in the off-topic forum.

The point is that at work I can't control the computer environment. Its a secure government system. I can't install any pop-up killing software and while I can choose to avoid threads with obviously inappropriate images for a government computer system, I can't chose to ignore the pop-ups as I can't even save cookies to control my style. In other words, pop-ups like that make the whole site inappropriate for me to access from work.
Oh well, it means I'll actually have to do some work...

The difference being if you're caught looking at the babe threads at work, it's your own fault. People have limited control over the Britney ad.

Its only for material up to restricted and the whole point is that I can't install anything and I don't have a cache to clear as its all locked away from the users. Oh and the traffic is monitored regularly. Forums just about OK - pictures of scantily clad "women"* defn not OK.
* Usual exemptions apply but I couldn't think of another appropriate term...

Just use Mozilla and turn off the popups! It's a great browser, it gets constantly upgraded and, most of all, it blocks popups!

Well Taz, don't know what to say but looks like the admakers paid too much for the ad and Mark isn't about to give it up. Maybe you can suck it up and actually do some work at your government job. <--- joke smileys.
