NFL Draft
OK, the draft is a little over a week away. What is the word on the street?
Who are the top prospects and who is gonna get them?
I don't know much, but I know the Lions get 2nd pick, so I hope we get someone damn good to compliment Joey Harrington so hopefully we won't be the crappiest team in the NFL anymore.

Well we've got a good QB now, I think we need some good receivers for him to throw to.

I think they're looking at Charles Rogers from MSU, who's a tall receiver with excellent speed. I read in the Freep they had a "backup" pick of another WR, but I forgot who.

Yea, i saw that at detroitlions.com, I hope he gets picked, it'll be good to get more local boys on the team. The team site also mentioned a receiver from GVSU. While he's from division 2, he still broke a lot of records and won the championship last year. Maybe they can pick him up in a later round.
Two Michigan picks would be great.
The article I read about Rogers suggested Cinnicinatti might pick him first in order to trade him. Lets hope they don't do that.

Didn't the Bengals go to the superbowl sometime in the last 20 years?
More than can be said about the Lions....

Yea...but they faced the worst possible opponent: San Francisco 49'ers.
Cincinnatti are considering three players: QBs Carson Palmer and Byron Leftwich, and CB Terence Newman.
Detroit will probably pick Charlie Rogers yea...

At least the bengals have won more than one playoff game in the past 40+ years. I think the lions won their only playoff game in '91 since the 1950s
I pity the fool that gets picked up by the bengals, though. They've squandered so many good draft picks, they make detroit look respectable by comparison- no mean feat.

With the 5th pick in the 2003 NFL draft, the Dallas Cowboys select: Terence Newman, CB, Kansas St.

Detroit needs so many key positions filled...they've GOT to get an RB or WR that is an instant pro. That means RB, usually, but I wouldn't underestimate the value of a good WR either. Tougher to pick them up through free agence it seems.
It would be interesting to see two former Duck stars on the Lions.

I think detroit just filled its most needed position...Head Coach.
If my Giants didn't already have a good coach in Jim Fassel, Mariucci would be at the top of my wish list. Plus the fact they have two potentially great Quarterbacks...Mike Mcmahon and Joey Harrington. Of course they don't have much else but its a start
My Giants I think are pretty set perhaps some gaps in the Defense and Offensive line and thats really it. So Look for them to take the NFC east this year.
