If you look closely you can see grey lines representing the borders of today's countries. I was using it for a school project, but if you change all the colour blocks to white you'll get the borders of today's countries.

I remember one of my friend always spent like $20-30 on research. It was hilarious cause he used to say "I have a gambling problem" just before he coughed up the money.
