How did the Diaspora change Your Life?
Apolyton shut down, what, 2-3 days? That's a long time for some of you bigger addicts... how did you make it through the scattering?
Me, I registered at FFZ and decided not to resurrect my Jesus H. Christ DL at Counterglow.

Well, I have 3 forums that i visit regularly (Apolyton, Something Awful, PPGWorld), plus my own forums, so I survived for awhile. However, at one point yesterday, all 3 were down and I was forced to just use my site.

Well I don't know about you guys but we Jews are used to diaspora. So we just wore our skull caps and went to pray for a return to apolyton in the synagogue.
Actually several Zionist thinkers suggested that we should ourselves begin purchasing web space from settler and creating our own Apolyton forums. Of course there were claims that the space we were about to purchase was actually populated by the real Apolyton site, but we consider this rumors. I mean - the site was off line. This means the web space was never used. We Jews could have gotten much better use out of it.
But now, alas, the quick return of Apolyton has thwarted our Zionist hopes of internet independance. Blast you, Apolyton, and your quick return to your father's server.
(all of the above is said in a cynical humorous mood. welcome back folkes)

I spent more time at 'Straight Dope' and 'Front Office Football Central'. It was good fun (but not enough ).
Oh, and that finals thing got some attention from me .

MasterZen, Counterglow, Freefirezone, and refreshing at Apolyton.
At one time, only Counterglow was up.
ACK!

I didnt notice it either. I tried logging on once this week and couldnt connect. I immediately blamed it on crappy interent connection I was having and forgot about it. Then I just checked the mail sent by Alva notifying me there's "alternative poly" online setup by MZ.
I also check few other forums, so I wouldnt have had problem "coping" if I had nothing to do during those days. Actually, I spend more of my forum time while my friends are hanging out in my room, so it will just mean that I'll be devoting little more attention to stupid drunken conversations thats coming out of their mouths.

Correct.
And . Sorry dude! Though when I was posting on Great Debates (many moons ago), I noted the NASTY tone there. Minty Green and Collonsbury especially acted like *******s to people who simply dared to disagree with them.

Another Apolytoner, Urban Ranger, got pitted for being snarky in a computer help thread.
I am "JohnT" over at the SDMB (and at FFZ and Counterglow).

I got pitted by Jarbabyjay after I posted a Thread about my first week as a sophomore in the Texas A&M Corps Of Cadets. I'm a dirty hazer, and in later threadsd she would bring it up so often, people eventually told her to knock it off. Even though I'm a low-postcount guy (350 posts after 2 years)

Uh, oh. You hazed, and then proudly admitted doing so? On the SDMB????
You are a brave man. The only position that will get you slammed faster is "I feed my baby formula because it is more convenient."

Bad wording on my part.
According the SDMB crowd I was a dirty hazer. Apperently, making guys do push-ups for not following the rules=hazing!
