Modified tiles.dll in a ww2 style
Currently I am working on a modified version of the tiles.dll file in a ww2 style. Has anybody already some experience in it or already made on ?

Any ideas where I can get some good pictures, especially paintings, no photos.

They look very good Steff, except that the last one is a bit "blurry"!

And the Bersaglieri were not the common italian infantry, but an elite one!

The last one is not as good as the first ones, thats right. I will change it soon...

But it is not very easy to find suitable pictures as the size of the pictures is limited by civ. Every good picture i find is too big

Now to the italian infantry. How should i name it, as "italian infantry" is too big ? So I thought about Bersaglieri or Alpini, but both are elite troops.
Whats your suggestion ?

I would keep Bersaglieri, and make them as strong as, for instance, normal Whermacht: so elite italian is equivalent to common infantry in other countries!

Spader, for editing the .dlls i use the Gif Xtractor and Paint Shop Pro. Editor for FW/MGE is attached (if it works).

Now to the bloody deutsche Version .......
The Beta Version is completely in German. A release will of course be in english.

Looks nice, Steff!
I never thought about editing the dlls, although there are already some scenarios with that feature.

I just began playing with Gif Xtractor, it's funny.
Here's an example, what i did so far..

Looks great.

Sometimes you can reinforce house rules visually with a modified DLL. One example (of questionable taste):

Don't forget the tax distribution dialog!

Baldrick, that is the stupidest plan since King Charles the Tenth of Sweden said "Come on, troops, now. Let's chase after that Peter the Great bloke across ten thousand miles of burnt Polish fields." Cities don't just grow by magic and building a new one would not deceive the Jerries any more than a fat tub of lard with a dirty beard and a red suit prancing across the No-Man's-Land would make them believe in Father Christmas.

St. Leo, you've just written my @FOUNDED in Games.txt. Problem is that it might encourage founding just to see the message!

Is that truly a quote from Black Adder Goes Forth or a St. Leo original?

It's a St. Leo original.

Actually, I think I messed up my Swedish kings. I meant to refer to King Charles the Twelfth.

Spader, of course I keep the german style. It is the better version with a big new pedia and describe file. Nearly all civ files as advice, labels, menu were changed and it was a lot of work. The english version is only a tribute to our friends here in the forum. I will draw up an english version with the most important files only. Maybe I will post the two versions in the future when playtesting is finished.
