A new data patch.
There is a new data patch, but is it really going to change much without the code patch?
ACK!

Depending on the game design, yeah, it can. Anywhere from a little to nearly all of "AI" (because it really ain't, when it's done this way) behavior can be made dependent on initial values of external tables.

So has any one tried it? Does it make any difference? Should I reinstall MoO3 and give it another chance? (I will eventually, just not sure if I should yet.)

It makes some difference, but if you could not persevere with the initial release of Moo3 I feel you should wait for the code patch to solve all the UI faults as well as the gameplay ones. From reading the list of changes Moo3 will be alot less frustrating and more of a challenge after the code patch.

In the meantime, DanQ wrote me he hopes that the second MOO3 data patch will be mirrored on this site in a few days.
I had tried to access this patch through the Infogrames site but no joy! Does anyone else have problems in accessing that site?

I repeat; can anyone get into the Infogrames site for the latest patches etc.? I cant!!!
I guess it is probably as well to wait for the latest data and code patches to be mirrored on the Apolyton site?
Incidentally, none of the alien races against which I am playing act like Gandhi! Though admittedly they seem disinclined, or unable, actually to invade and occupy any of my planets despite moving huge fleets into my systems, attacking my undefended planets and ships but still offering to open up diplomatic relations as if butter would melt in their perfidious alien mouths! It is just as well for them that neither I, the mighty Terran emperor, nor my imperial advisors, can work out how, after creating so many marine and mobile units, we can actually create armies, let alone transport them anywhere!
No matter how quickly I try to expand as the Hu-mans, even at the easiest level, the alien races always outperform me substantially! Maybe this is a sign I should give up and become a monk?
Or another sign, I fear, of a poorly balanced game?
I re-iterate my plea to the moderators of the Apolyton site... pleassssssse make sure that any future patches are mirrored on this site. I have given up on the Infogrames one!
Live long and prosper.
