Who knows what the center is anyway. I took an internet poll and it said I was in the center. Of course if someone measures things from the point of view of this forum I would be to the right. I always thought of my self as being right wing but I tend to agree with true liberals who are motivated by compassion. As Winston Churchill said (not an exact quote): "A young conservative has no heart." A conservative is a liberal who has just been mugged. BTW the second part of that quote is: "An old liberal has no brain." I tend to agree with him.

Right on every issue except for things like Gay rights.
This forum is definitely far left from a US perspective. However for an international forum it is only slightly left. We are very very radical libertarians though. :

This forum has certainly lurched to the right since Ming started showing his biases and using his mod powers to ban liberals and close liberal threads.

I am a radical on many issues and lean left, though I find most left-intellectuals as dumb and confused as those on the right. I am able though to argue any side well... I am able to understand why people think something even if I think they are utterly wrong, and I think that is a wonderful ability.
On econmic issues I am open to free market ideas in many areas but I do still want to see the public sector handle most basic services like education, healthcare and such.

Of course the other factor is so many Americans seem to be out of their right mind at the moment with militaristic nationalism. They sound a lot like pre 1914 Germans.

straight down the middle
I actually support the old style democrats. They used to have a great party back in the JFK and FDR years. But sadly the democratic party today is crap. Hillary Clinton is the best example of this.
Most of the current republican party is also crap. I admit Bush suprised me though. He has turned out to be a stronger president than I thought. He's got nads going against the whole world like he did. Something his father could never have done. But his economic plan is crap. He has no idea how to run an economy.
so because of this I voted banana. I am independant.

I am an American centrist, so I vote banana. I think the Republican and Democratic parties are both hopelessly corrupt. The choice in 2000 between Bush, Gore, Nader, and Buchanan was the biggest plate of **** ever served in America, IMO.

More right than left, probably. In America, I'd probably vote for the Democrats, though, since America's Republican Party isn't something an innocent European is quite prepared to handle.

His father never needed to do it, as he was a premiere diplomat, regardless of how anyone views his policies.

Funny, it´s the same thing I also thought.
Especially since I heard that the Solciers in the Field get Bibles where they are urged to pray for President Bush and his Family.
At once I thought about the Soldiers in WW I who went to war with Slogans like "Für Gott, Kaiser und Vaterland" (For God, Kaiser and Fatherland) or "Mit Gott an unserer Seite" (With God on our side).
Oh and for the Record:
I am from Germany and I consider myself to be slightly leftist´.

I'm obviously a left-liberal, though a couple of years ago I was fairly right-wing.
I care a lot about my political beliefs because I've seen a hell of a lot of suffering for someone who is only 18 and I believe in helping people as much as possible, both economically and socially.

The French have insulted our national pride!
Now, I happen to be caught up in this whole militaristic nationalism, though I am actually a very reasonable person at heart. I have a heart, much to the dismay of my conservative friends, and to the shock of those that know me only as a member of the 'republican club'. Though I supported the war, I felt some force telling me that we really had no business killing all these people. I beleive it to be something called a 'conscience'. I got over it.
Most decent republicans listen to their 'conscience', and then quash it when the time is politically expedient. My conscience almost won over the cool and calculating side once, when I listened to a speech by a bigwig in Amnesty International. For one moment, liberalism made sense. That moment changed me profoundly, but even now I still can't make a bit a sense about liberal arguments (most of them, anyway).
People should really keep more of an open mind.

Short answer: No.
Long answer: Libertarian, which means I usually get lumped in with the right wingers for economic reasons. This doesn't make much sense, of course, since the right wingers haven't really supported libertarian style economics for a long time, just like the left wingers haven't really supported libertarian style social freedom in a long time.
Really, the best answer is NOTA.

I am very conservative, therefore i am very left.
And I have huge anti-american tendencies, because I am a European-patriot. If I have to chose between the French and the Americans, no question, the French rule and look better.
