Faction Ideas

I thought that the SMACX factions seemed pretty silly, so I sat down and tried to think up some alternatives..... and couldn't

So tell me what factions you would have put in if you had been designing SMACX.

The original factions covered a lot of the good ideas.

I like the Usurpers and the Caretakers. The Cult is excellent flavor-wise; ditto the Free Drones. Maybe an anti-U.N., ie. democratic but hyper-conservative?

Try a game or two with the aquatic versions of the original seven - get them at:

load them to your alpa centauri folder, and add them to the #CUSTOMFACTIONS section of the alphax.txt file - then you can choose them for a game

be warned - the Spartans and the Hive are formidable as "pirate type" factions
