Does the Chinese Rider have an Ancient History?
p202 of my Civ manual lists the Rider as an Ancient Era unit with stats 2-2-2, price 30.
As manuals have to be written before software is 'finished' or 'finalised' this kind of error is understandable. Does it, though, mean that originally the Rider *was* a horsie class unit instead of knight class?
If so, I wonder what people would have made of it - hypothetically. Would it be an 'ancient cossack', berated for a defensive bonus to an offensive unit? Or an offensive super-Impi that can pillage, take cities and defend them? A fast, bouncy bowman? Now we might call it a Gallic Swordsman on a budget.
I think I'd like it. Of course, early UU's can weaken the GA, but it'd be good for attacking more distant civs, as defenders wouldn't need to follow up or be built, as with horseman rushes.
