a question about circumnavigation
I tried to achieve the circumnavigation feat but nothing happened. I guess maybe another civ did it first. Does it tell you when another civ achieves a feat?
Also, what *exactly* counts as circumnavigation? Do you have to return to the exact spot you departed from, or do you just have to cross the same line of longitude you started from, or does simply having a continuous path through the Fog count?
Thanks

Remember that the map is inclined. You have to count the slope.
So yor circnavigation hat to look like this:

ok, so is that the effect you would get if you just kept pressing (4) or (6) or whatever and just kept moving in the same direction?

That arrow is the effect if you keep pressing 9 on the numberpad, which moves the unit along the X axis, pressing 3 or 7 moves along the Y axis. Havent checked it but it seems right. Pretty easy to check with the scenario editor.

Correct someone if i am wrong. It increases 1 move point for 25 turns to all sea units.

You must have a single vessel perform the circumnavigation - if two boats head out in opposite directions and meet on the other side of the world that doesn't count.

What?? Sorry, but I don't get it.
If you move across the world in an earth shaped map, that is, in a circular manner, you should circumnavigate the world, right? If you hit the 9 in the keypad, you're moving in a diagonal manner, not left to right.

Indeed, if you keep pressing 9, you will move over the map in the same direction as the arrow in Pedrunn's screenshot shows.
The way the circumnavigation feat works, you have to enter every x-coordinate on the map once to get the feat. On a 'real' world map this would make sense: the x-axis is the horizontal axis so if you've passed all values for x, you've circumnavigated the globe.
However, in CtP2 the x-axis isn't horizontal but diagonal (as Pedrunn's pic shows). This means the feat still works if you move in a straight horizontal line across the world. However, you can get the feat even without moving across the world horizontally: if you cross the world diagonally (from bottom-left to top-right), you would get the feat after you only crossed half of the map horizontally, because by then you've already visited all x values. And if you would move from bottom right to top-left, you could cross the world 10 times over and still not get the feat as you constantly remain on the same x-value.
This phenomenon is also known as a 'bug' '

Ah, a bug. So in CTP2 the horizontal axis is really a diagonal bottom-left to top-right . Coming from Activision that makes sense.
Thanks Locutus
