Sorry, but my brain is a little numb today, I don't want to be bothered trying to figure out dates and years. I've always sucked at that anyway.
In a nut shell, I've always been an artistic wannabe that's never been able to make it. Like many of my peers, I suck at business. I've spent 20 some odd years, off and on, playing/writing music, and poetry, taking photographs and lately graphic/web site design.
That's been interspersed with work as a cook, and a printer, and a few basic labour jobs here and there. I even had a short stint working underground in a nickel mine in northern Manitoba. I didn't like it much, at least the job aspect, but it was an interesting experience anyway.

To much life! I kind of lost it yesterday when I heard that my mother was dying, on top of everything else that's happened. My landlady has been a bit concerned for me today.
She sure is a sweetheart.

After various trials and tribulations lately, the latest being informed that my mother is dying, I've decided that it's time to move on. I'm going to be packing in my life here in Ontario, Canada and moving back to Victoria, BC, a place that has always had a special feeling in my heart. My soul has been badly bruised lately, and I think being there will help me heal it again. At least I hope so.
So by the end of May, I'll have sold or given away almost everything I own, including my computer, and be winging my way out west in search of a new life. I thought I'd say goodbye in advance since I've really come to enjoy hanging out here, and I'll probably miss the place. But since I'll basically be starting from scratch, it might be awhile before I can afford to buy a new computer and get back online again. Which means that most of you that I've come to know here probably won't be around then.
I've made an ass of myself at times, and sometimes got rather petulant with some of the posters here, but for the most part, sharing my thoughts, feelings and opinions have been a good experience. There's a fair number of intelligent, well-informed people that hang out here; though I don't always agree with their views, and I thought I'd take the time to thank you all for the sometimes lively and usually informative debates I've found myself in while I've been hanging out here. And for the thoughts and opinions I've encountered when I was just lurking.
Unfortunately, the list is to long to name you all personally, and I'd be sure to forget a few people if I even tried to. So I'll have to settle for a generic "Have a good life and take care of yourself in case I don't connect with you again."

Exactly. And I like eating oysters fresh from the ocean. I know of a good bed on Gabriola Island where I can just eat them straight out of the water. And dungeness crab, freshly steamed from their shells. Hmmm.

Hey dude.
Sorry to hear about your problems. I hope you overcome and find a new path.
Getting a fresh start is difficult and challenging, but it is reportedly worth it. So I wish you a happy journey.

Thanks. I've already found my new path. As for overcoming my problems, there's only so much I can do until after my mother is buried. It's going to be a tough haul the next few days, no way to get around that.

Well I've done it a few times in my life now, and yes it is. It's a great way of getting rid of emotional baggage and bad habits that are holding someone back. Being around familiar surroundings all the time can make it difficult to reinvent yourself. And that's what I need to do.

I most certainly will. Hopefully I'll be back online by the fall. I certainly can't see myself going without a computer for a long time. I'm such a geek.
