I like some British comedy, but not enough to say it's better.

I'll go with the Brits. I wouldn't necessarily say it's a slam-dunk case, though.

There's a lot of bad british sitcoms, but there's even more bad american sitcoms. Futher, the top quality british programs tends to be a little bit better on average.

British humour, because it tends to let you find the jokes rather than have them labelled "Joke, now laugh".

British humour, when well done, always crack me up
Good American humour is solid, but is often too obvious or dependant on the same mechanics. I enjoyed Seinfeld or Friends very much, but it doesn't even come close to Monty Python's or Blackadder, which turn me into a hysterical state

Blackadder, Red Dwarf and French and Saunders vs Futurama, WillandGrace and Frasier...
There's more volume of good American comedy, but Britain still just about has the edge on quality...

Futurama....
Will and Grace....
Good lord!
Aside from a few episodes of Frasier or Seinfeld, I cant think of an american TV comedy that has made me laugh out loud. There are lots of good american comedians, they just make movies, not TV.

There are more good US programs, but there are UK shows that are better. It's difficult to choose, really.

Tough call! I think it's fair to say I follow more American shows and enjoy them very much, but some British series makes me really laugh out loud. Coupling is SO good I go crazy, Mr Beans early things.. Fastshow and Harry Enfield shows in general are great.. makes me laugh and roll on the floor (I'm considerably richer than you!)...

Not even close - British.
And yes, Canadians are funnier than Americans too.
Just look how many Canadian comedians the US has imported - Norm McDonald, Howie Mandell, Tom Green, Matthew Perry, Rich Little, Mike Myers, Martin Short, Leslie Nielsen, Jim Carrey, Dan Aykroyd, Colin Mochrie, Alan Thicke, Phil Hartman, Michael J. Fox.

To tell you the truth i'm more familiar with American Comedy, they definitely show it more here in Estonia.
But i prefer British myself, even based on a few i've seen.
