Do you mean Baddiel and Skinner unplanned aka David Baddiel and Frank Skinner.
Or perhaps the Mary Whitehouse Experience - now thats the funniest sketch show I've ever seen. Especially the bit with the two historians.

Baddiel and Skinner are the more recent double-act. When David Baddiel was working with that other guy, Newman, the sketches were much funnier.
Steve Punt and Hugh Dennis were two members of the Mary Whitehouse Experience, but they also had a show of their own later on.

Ya gotta love Blackadar, Faulty Towers, and Monty Python.... but Seinfeld just stands head and shoulders above them all. That is why American comedy is better.
