More evidence of western press doctoring photos during Iraq War
http://www.thememoryhole.org/media/e...dard-crowd.htm
Just another example in a long line of the subtle deceptions that the conservative-dominated media will use to push people towards supporting illegal wars of aggression.

IIRC, it was Churchill who said the first victim of a war was always truth ? I don't see anything surprising in having been fed with lies during wartime. The belief our newssources are unbiased have always made a propagandist's delight.
However, despite this fake image, I still believe may people cheered the US troops when they first arrived in Baghdad. Probably not in throngs like this, but many people nontheless.

Staying out of the pro-war vs anti-war arguement, the point is to show how "journalism" has been abused by this publisher. Why is such behaviour tolerated in journalism?
Again, focus not on the war, but how it's presented by this image.

Sava... what did you achieve with that comment?
Think about it for a moment... all you did was insult people. Did you gain anything from it? Did you change any of these "FOX watching doomasses" minds about an issue? You achieved one thing... a little more spite between you and the "FOX watching doomasses".
btw, I don't watch TV news, so I'm not just defending myself.

Re: More evidence of western press doctoring photos during Iraq War
Illegal Wars? Man who the hell are you? The Iraqi Information Minister? You are starting to sound like him. Get something original. Not something from the communist underground. Conservative dominated media? Wake up, the media has always been leftist.
I am sorry to bring this old style of me, but I have no choice. In the light of the insanity demonstrated by several people here I must expose them for their arrogance.

Strange that they changed the pic especially since I can not see any real difference between the two.

Exactly what DinoDoc said.
I loaded their pic in photoshop and improved it a bit, and the people most certainly look different.
The only reason for "blurs" and "look alikes" is that the writer has purposefully scanned the picture in a really small resolution, and then resized it so that all the faces would look like a bunch of pixels, that can be claimed to "look alike".

As a journalist, I wonder if the good Simone Moore and Russ Kick bothered to even contact the Evening Standard prior to posting the alleged doctored photo to see what the newspaper in question had to say.
At this point in time, I am aware of *one* instance in Western media where a photo was manipulated and published. The photo and manipulation was done by a photographer for the Los Angeles Times. The photographer submitted the manipulated photo to his unknowing editors, who didn't discover his trickery until *after* the photo had run.
The photographer basically took parts of two photographs and, using Photoshop (or similar software), combined certain elements from each photo into a single photo, which then was published. It wasn't even a major change done by the photog — he basically shifted a smiling soldier closer to a smiling child and manipulated the angle slightly.
The end result? The photographer was immediately *fired* from his position and is now BLACKLISTED by reputable news organizations in print, television and the Internet. IOW, people, this man will *never* again hold a job as photojournalist, all because of a moment of idiocy on his part.
The moral of the story? Don't f*ck with the photos, and don't f*ck with the news copy, because when we find out, we will terminate your journalism career.
Journalists can take care of their own malcontents w/o the "assistance" of such Internet sites as The Memory Hole.

Indeed. I wonder how, exactly, the New York Times stuffed up that famous "policeman in front of bleeding Israeli" photo...that isn't stupid, that's crossing the line from stupidity to utter lieing.

This is silly. I don't even see what you're talking about with the photos. And where is the Standard reaction? Where are the other papers running stories on this manipulation? May as well go to Indymedia.com for this kind of tripe.
Sorry idiot. Iraqis cheered to get rid of Saddam. Go choke on it.
