Hmmm... we must not get too overzealous though! Our people are being tortured by the brutal Gestapo in the south, and it would be folly to believe we can save our glorious nation on one front against Nazi lackeys!
Nevertheless, if Comrade Yopov can hold these cities, and possibly conquer more during spring and summer, then all seems well for Murmansk in the winter, when we can kill even more Nazis!

I haven't forgotten all our citizens and soldiers killed by the Germans and their lackeys! We should remind them, in our harts and minds, but we must also be optimistic, not pessimistic! We have to put objectives, which seem hard to accomplish, but then we reach them and go beyond them. Our possibilities might be limitless, we only have to try!

No country has EVER successfully invaded Russia. Under our glorius leadership of Comrade Stalin, leading us under the Communist Ideal, there is nothing stopping us from victory!
Comrade Yopov and the rest of the Front Commanders deserves accalaims of the highest order! Without them, and our glorious Marshall, we would have been speaking German and Finnish long ago!

When winter is over, we should consider handing out some more medals. We have to reward our front commanders, and we haven't got spare units nor money, so a medal is the best thing to give

Go easy on the medals, if you hand them out all the time you'll soon end up with none left to give at all...

I didn't say we had to hand out medals for everything every turn, but we could give a medal for best perfoming commader every season. It's not like we have given away hundreds of medals. A medal from time to time motivates people (especially when they have to accomplish something for it)

We only have so many different medals though comrade.
It's fine as long as we don't overdo it.
In the worst case scenario I'll just have to make a few more

We should thank them, and medals are the cheapest way of doing so, because we can't reward them with units nor money. (We could try sending some women, but I don't think everybody will approve. The same thing with vodka)

This month's events:
*1 German Wehrmacht SG killed on the mountains in Norway
*2 Finnish infantery killed in the woods of inner Finland
*1 convoy airlifted to Baku. (Because Grozny had already conducted an airlift operation, I couldn't airlift it to that city)

I think Hammerfest is due north of the unit that is damaged.
Yop knew the assault would have to be in April. He and I already went thru that. Having to take out an Infantry and sustain a Red Guard being damaged is really going to make the assault interesting...........
Yop I didn't see any other Red Guards following up, do you have a third about a turn behind the first two?

No, I don't. I used that one to kill some Finnish.
They were threatening Kandalashka.

Do you think this attack can still succeed? If so, go for it, if not, go back into defensive positions and prepare to attack the Finnish in the summer.

Report for April 1942
Russian troops were very succesful this month.
*2 Finnish infantery killed in central Finland
*Finnish panzergrenadiers killed north of Kandalshka. The had foolishly moved onto a swamp square where they were an easy target for our katyushkas
*German infantery south of Hammerfest killed
*German infantery in Hammerfest killed. No garrisson is there anymore. Hopefully the city will be captured next month

Excellent work comrade!
I have a question though, is it absolutely imparitive that you keep both Mechanized Infantry? or can we send one of them down to Leningrad for the Baltic Front to use?

Both mech. infantery have their uses. But if the Baltic front needs one desperately, I could send one up.

I have no such desperate need.
I am a little perplexed about the units in Tikhvin though, the city have been given to my front I believe, but the units guarding it are homed to your cities. Do you want me to have them (as you've left them there for a long time now) or should I leave them alone?

Most of them I believe are reguler red army units. Some one should make partisans out of them or turn them into sheilds. Thats just my suggestion.
