There should be a rule using games that only appeared on one very obscure system that no-one owned (except Tubey apparently ).

Not only an awkward git, but a perverted Atarti ST owner Do we actually get an answer, or will we be left for ever in suspense?

Actually (goes serious for a moment) what exactly is a git? Does anyone know? Anyone at all?
Quick teaser : C64 game - "Stay a while... stay... FOREVER!"
and "Destroy him, my robots" both in a synthesized voice that I thought was dead cool - but what game?

Here's an obscure one:
This C-64 sidescroller featured bats whose guano was lethal if it fell on you. (There's more to it than that, of course. )

Hint #2: Be careful not to fall off any ropes or elevators (or fall into any holes) on your way to the moneybags.

Close, but this game's main character wore a helmet.
Also, it was made by Broderbund...

I should have picked a game that really stood out in the genre of cave explorers.
More hints:
There was also an arcade version.
There was at least one sequel.
You climbed ropes, rode elevators and mine cars.
Rocks fell on your head.
You had to jump over geysers.
Slow moving ghosts attacked you.

Ok for my game an all-time classic game, which I played on the Spectrum.
A clumsy wizard once misplaced a powerful tome, and now the land has plunged into everlasting gloom. You must enter a castle where it is suspected to have ended up, and seek it out to end the plight of the land.
More later after a few guesses.
